I lost the love of my life,
My heart is filled with strife.
I thought we had forever,
But now we're not together.
I can't imagine marrying someone new,
Unless it's her, I just can't do.
She's the one that holds my heart,
And now we're worlds apart.
Every night I lie in bed,
Thoughts of her swirl in my head.
I wonder if she thinks of me,
Or if she's moved on, completely free.
I know I should let go and move on,
But my love for her is just too strong.
I can't imagine anyone else by my side,
Unless it's her, my love, my pride.
So I'll hold on to this hope,
That one day we'll find a way to cope.
And maybe, just maybe, we'll find our way back,
And our love will never again lack.
