i want to write a poem about hope, but the problem is i literally started getting interested in poems a few minutes ago and idk where to start, i have some ideas in mind but ive still haven’t got the hang of the rules of poems and stuff, i’m thinking of something about holding on to hope even tho many things have happened in life kept making u want to let go

thats a start... u alr know ur topic
every one of us has a different way of writing
some prefer the oldschool way of writing on a piece of paper 1st, then writing the final draft on a pc/phone
some directly write on pc
what i would recommend is that dont think
just pour ur heart into it
thats how i started
write a poem, if another poem inspired u to write it, u might alr have some idea about how u want ur poem to turn out to be
i just wanna let u know that even if ur poem doesnt rhyme, its fine... we love free verses
there are no rules in poem writing
its a way to vent out or to show ur creativity
a place where u can play with words
just write whatever u can and post it in #1040728773127061514
we'll help ya out if we think u need to change something
or if there is a grammatical error
but just chill mate...its the best way to write poems
@strange gate
omg thanks for the tips hades
no worries! just pour ur heart
that the only rule
ping me if u need any other help cuz im unfollowing the thread so i wont be able to see msgs unless i get pinged
ohh ok
thanks
i jus did in sensitive poetry
The first rule to poetry is that there are no rules to poetry. (Ohkay that's an exaggeration) But seriously, its less about focusing on the rules and what's right and wrong while youre in the first stages of that creative flow, yk? Like, just pen something down, even if it doesnt make sense, even if the phrases are disjointed, you'll eventually find a way to arrange it later but nothing will happen unless you let loose and let the words pour from yer beautifully hopeful soul.
And taste your words. Do they feel right in your mouth? Do they feel good when you say it back to yourself? Does it hit the mark of what you're trying to express.
Also, if you're gonna be working with rhymes it always ok to look up words that rhyme with other words, yk?
i’m trying this out for now instead of focusing on the rules
poetry sounded like the perfect way to creatively vent
