Kindly don't make a thread for just 3 words
do you think there needs to be a minimum length for a poem to be worth taking seriously
No, but 3 word poem like this is unnecessary sorry
It should at least be a one proper sentence. And there shouldn't be many like that either, if there are many then make sure to post it in one whole thread, so that other poems won't get ruined for just 4 words either.
time to write a collection of 3 word poems
could you explain the meaning of your three words, and their relationship with the topic
being curious
like, I know what the three words mean on their own
but what was the context behind,
and why is she on the first line, why are was free on the second - why the line break
pls don't take this personally, but I do agree that this requires somewhat a bit more explanation
it is my opinion that it is necessary for the depth of your meaning and emotion be appreciated by fellow members and readers around here
sure
hold on a bit. busy rn
so this is supposed to be a sequel to the "shortest poem of all time"
it's poetic fanfiction
this poem, "lines on the antiquity of microbes" goes as follows
"adam
had 'em"
this poem, titled "lines on the aftermath of microbes" takes place after adam perishes. one of the potential implications of the original poem is that the fleas mentioned were harbingers of the black death
this is about the death of adam
the she in question is eve.
i think the rest is clear
the line break is to mirror the original poem, with one word on the first line, and two on the second.
the title flies refers both to eve leaving the force's marriage to adam, and a reference to the fleas from the first poem.
hell, if i wanted to go one layer deeper, remove the second word and you now have a connection back to muhammad ali's reaction to fleas
this wasn't brainless
i believe this wasn;t brainless & I like minimalistic poems. But how does 3 words "adam had em (ancient microbes)" = adam's death by fleas? On top of that, fleas aren't death sentences anymore. How far of a jump, minimalist poems are allowed to make?
i guess it's up for you to decide
Is there often a planned purpose behind how far the jump is?
Which 'deliberately-jumpy' poets you like?
obviously strickland gillilan
hell, robert rittel wrote a whole poem about logic jumping
filed for learning. Ty
