#IS GRAMMER REALLY NEEDED IN A POEM?

this is a question really taunting me from the day i started writing poems....is grammer really needed in a poem? in a poem we may have to shuffle the words got out of text to sometimes get the feel right? whay do you guys have to say on the same?

Beyond the basics, I don't think grammar is the most important thing in a poem, but that doesn't mean you should neglect it either. If you're referring to just spelling errors and common grammatical mistakes, then just as long as your poem isn't incomprehensible, it should be fine (plus Grammarly and such exists so you can always run your writing through it to proofread).

If you're talking about more complex topics like punctuations, line breaks, formatting, etc., then you need to learn and understand them well before you can properly break them too. The same way how grammar and formatting can enhance the message of the poem— it can also detract from the meaning and understanding. What separates line breaks from enjambments; or whether or not you forgot a comma at the end of a line versus purposely leaving the comma out, is the intention behind them and how it's used.

Grammar can be broken in experimental poetry but you have to know the rules first.

This is a modernists vs purists debate. But I mostly agree with @gloomy monolith and @sturdy reef. My point of order is you should not break grammar to such extent that it looks shabby and portrait lack of linguistics. You can always skip things if a clear context is delivered.
