As of now the door will only place in one way by default. It would be a nice qol if we could change the swing from right to left or vice versa

How about allowing the door/gate to swing in or out depending on where you open it from. Kinda annoying to open a door and have it swing into you

Depending what the door is doing, an outswing door is stronger than an inswing door when defending. An inswing door is being held closed only by the lock. An outswing door is sealed against the "stop trim", so you have to break through the entire door, not just defeat the lock.

This is true which is why my original query was to merely change hand, however there are times when an inswing door would fit better. Rare, but they are there.

Most resi doors are in swing even on the outside facing doors. This is an architectural standard as the design permits the owner to greet a guest without smacking them in the face with the door.

Yes, it was the outswing residential doors that really bothered me...I almost went the architect's path in college, but meeting a girl programmer changed all that...lol
