I just want to bring this up. I noticed someone suggested before allowing steering wheel support. However, my buddy just told me that he noticed planes/helis on the roadmap?
If that is the case, I'd like to introduce you to my sim rig*(this is an old photo, but you get the point)*.
This thing is what I prefer to play games on, when possible. It's a blast in Arma and Star Citizen. I've enjoyed a little War Thunder on it. But that's about where the compatibility ends. There's not many games(especially ones that aren't specifically driving/flying sims) that support sim rig inputs. And the ones that exist pretty much never allow fluid and dynamic use of both a driving setup, and joystick setup in the same session.
So, I just think maybe this is another thing that could set this game apart. Clearly old school Arma DayZ had support for this stuff, but aside from that, this would be one of the only FPS games allowing fuild support between two sim setups, and actual organic reason to use each. Especially the only zombie one.
Just, something to think about. For now I use softwares to rebind my inputs to joystick inputs, and. it works. I'd just love to see official support someday.

1 person in 10,000 yer im sure that's their priority.
This person Star Citizens.
that carpet has me worried
but i am honestly along with the possibility to use more input devices.
But the game has far more important things that need to be done right now.
And if you look at the wide scope of games out there made by big studios with lots of staff and talent on hand, they are not including support either for these setups and probably because the number of consumers having such kit is so low.
Honestly it is more likely that the game gets VR support than this.
Haha, should have taken a shot where I wouldn't have to convince the internet those are in fact yellow paint stains.
But, in all seriousness, I understand there's more important things to be done, and it's a rare ask. And normally I agree that it would be more likely to get vr.
However, they've talked about adding flight. Games with flight have a much higher percentage of HOTAS support than others(this sounds redundant, but I just mean than games with only driving, games with flight tend to support at least analog, if not controllers themselves). And, my main point being, a much smaller amount of players will likely use the MIDI keyboard to piano feature. But they just added that... So I don't see this as a stretch at all.
Indeed
Like how they added MIDI input capabilities. Really a priority right?
we don't even have roofs.
Yer its top priority, im sure
Well to be clear, this is just a suggestion board.
This is just my suggestion.
Nowhere did I say it needs to be done now, or should be prioritized over anything else. I'm not the only person to ask for this.
And again, MIDI controls and URLs for the TVs. Clearly the devs have toyed around with some things that aren't top priority. And that's fine cause I think it helps them to define features they want in their game, early on. I'm not a dev so I have no idea the time, nor resources this would take to implement. If it's high then yeah I agree, if not then please I'd love the controls.
They already have controller support but have not created the Ui for it yet. Maybe they will in the long run or maybe a mod for it could be possible. Anywayz if you happen to have a spare one of those feel free to send it my way 😉
I also have a driving rig, but I also have VR. I would love if VR was added. Nothing is more immersive than being in VR and using a steering wheel, let me tell you, but this feels like a long distant dream as I've heard implementing VR is not easy because you need to redo all melee and ranged combat, controls etc. to suit VR controls.
