[summer pebble]

hi i recently released 8 factions over in the homebrew hub as part of my homebrew project THE SPACE BETWEEN SUNS

i'm looking for 6 players to play a standard thunder's edge game (to a points total of your choosing) using any 4 of my factions and any 2 others (preferably no nekro to begin with but open to communication)

since i'm not a player, TZ and game speed are up to player's discretion, as is point totals and any other game types. (not twilight's fall. for obvious reasons.) leaning towards a preset-faction milty draft, but suggestions welcome!

once the game starts, add me as an observer and i'll be hanging around to answer questions, amend wordings and listen to suggestions!

homebrew factions will unfortunately have to be done manually (commands, stand-ins, etc) so would love players who are fairly adept at the async commands language :)

the factions are linked at the end of this lfg post. if you fancy helping me out, that'd be great!

Every faction has 3 techs... Interesting. Is it a temporary measure to give players more freedom, and then edit only up to 2? Or do you just like more techs for factions in general

oh yeah i should have mentioned
every faction has 3 faction techs
i have wip third faction techs for official factions too to balance out but not necessary for this

just a bit more to do each game, sometimes you have games where everything is unlocked and gained by the end of r2 and then you're just playing an engine
this hopes to extend the feeling of growth (as well as a larger design space for cool theme and abilities)

I'm not wasting an actual CC from tactical pool, correct?

yeah no you basically don't have to spend a cc to activate home or wherever you place the gas giants

but it is still locked

stole that rule from berkel's brown dwarves which are functionally very similar

And I have one at home, and two in 2 systems of my choice

And my faction tech gets me a token from activating them

the intent with the bt is to spread the gas giants around but i imagine nobody will do that

which is why that faction tech now seems incredibly busted

and then brainstorm ways of spreading out the gas giants

Well, no planets controlled by a player would be a good thing...

But I can just play my SC first action, get my BT and place 2 Giants in my slice, since I don't control anything there yet

You can just say no planets

Or anything like "at least distance of 3 from your home system", but then you need to define distance in the way you don't break the game...

"in the systems you can't reach from your home without movement 3, ignoring the effects from anomalies"

yeah i know the breakthrough needs better placement wording

tbh the only reason the cyrrus BT has the placeable tokens is because there's going to be some printed ones on some system tiles i will make and they're obviously not around

I do think it's important to have the mix of vanilla just so you have a strong baseline to compare in real time
