Up to you, idm either way, don't mind trying base game. PoK + Codecs is the standard on async so may take longer to get people in APAC region
If you want to commit to base game, throw that in the title too
I've found most async games I'm in whispers are not allowed, and it works fine. Having them on is a very different dynamic 😂

I’d be down! UTC +11 I prefer the standard PoK with codecs and no whispers. Don’t love how much whispers slow down games.

I think PoK does a good job of not adding too much mental load and helps make the game run more smoothly
At this point it is the default way to play to the point that not including PoK and Codexes would more the game more complicated due to having to think about everything differently

Hey, I'm UTC 0/+1 so exactly the opposite of what you want, but I've only ever played one 8p and I'd love to try again, so would you be up for putting me on the reserve list? If you get to 7 and you're struggling to fill the last spot remember me 😉 I'm a bit of a night owl anyway so I've not had a problem playing in APAC games before.

I find it gets into a lot of back and forth messages happening outside of the game that can really slow down turns. Initially, it doesn’t make much of a difference but as the game gets longer, it’s more time consuming. I’ve also found people are able to take advantage of less experience players through them as well.
I prefer open negotiations so it encourages the back and forth, especially during agendas. It also allows people to negotiate alongside another player.

In a game with whispers, tbh wasn't slowing it down but just feels weird everyone making secret deals and noone talking at the table 😂

Whispers games are the best kinds of games, a very small amount of the time and they are also the worst kinda of games, too much more of the time to make it worthwhile without an established group

In Async theres too much time in between for those whispers to be remembered or considered,

Even though the APAC/US timezone flip does work out generally perfectly good, we'd never be considered the other way around
