#SCPT prelims slices - DRAFT ONLY

I don't mind helping. I'm not playing in SCPT but always enjoy drafting.
Sounds fun
I’d draft with you, but you may want someone less casual?
Sure as long as it’s just draft.
Why don’t you do the honors? 🙂
Because I'm busy 😅 but I can do it now

Good point. And it’s sound. However I have a question for the draft. Are we doing a post draft mortem or running through our picks now? This is a tournament game and if I talk about it now it influenced our picks later.
I'm OK with after
I’m good with after

Back to you

@leaden basin back at you

@sweet bloom and @half summit left I think?
I mean…how do you know? Besides they’ll see this later. I essentially drafted the way I did because Naaz Rokha is a strong faction, regardless of what I was going to draft later. I also got some skips…but I screwed up because I forgot the triple green faction tech was yellow.
I meant they were left to pick
Factions
Yellow?
I think I regretted not just taking titans like right after my pick. Idk
The tech you always complain about on your show lol.
But yes. I picked a slice with cybernetic tech instead of biotic
I got Xxcha
@half summit
I feel like if I get good secrets this is a great Xxcha spot
And can get an early hero
Oh man whoops. You didn’t pick a faction you sly dog.
Literally did the thing I lambasted someone for doing. Oh well it can’t affect the draft since it won’t affect much. Sorry @sweet bloom
I was surprised to see my highest ranked slice available at pick 6, and the factions were all acceptable, so I went slice and order
Probably wish I'd gone titans instead though - looking at the map now
Picked Speaker - (I know I won’t be stuck with Xxcha unless I want to be, since Mango grabbed slice. And if I decide I want to be the turts then obbie dependent I can grab Trade and bribe the 6 to take Diplo. Having played these before, I like slice 6, but none of them are absolutely miserable)
Slice 6 was marginally worse than the other remaining in terms of planets (1 less) and optimally spent resources, but lacked the blue and red skip, contained asteroids (when no remaining factions had Antimass), and had a planet on a wormhole which seemed more likely to be contested.
Empyrean was kinda my aim here. Easy access to a couple DET’s, nebula defense, could grab psycho R1 and get Gdrive/Fighter II or something later on. 1st spot means I could own Trade timing depending on obbie
NRA would be okay with Titans PN, but imo they suffer in any of these from only being able to mill 1 deck
First pick and empy feels like a win
Was thinking about your slice. And I wanted Empyrean or Muatt but I thought draft order precluded me from getting a good slice for either.
With a red slice, someone with more than 2 infantry would be ideal
I kinda tirpedo’d the draft though with the biotic mistake though.
I feel very good about that draft
Probably do something stupid like grab Psycho R1 (off secondary maybe, with Trade as primary) and bank on Enigmatic or tech primaries to get Carrier 2/Fighter 2, and the blue suite eventually
Let’s flip two random objectives
The slices don’t feel super different in terms of power. Green ones maybe the worst?
I like the lisis velnor one a bit
My only regret is being between titans and argent
I don’t hate the green ones
Should have avoided that
I just dislike green explores in general
I usually prefer to blue
You don’t like paying two dollars for an AC?
Less candy but more attachments & money
Maybe objective 1 will be attachments
Then RNG will screw me, not my explore chances if I were in green
Slow-ish Xxcha to one side and a partially blocked NRA on the others feels relatively safe
How do we do that. Channel wouldn’t let me
