#who show decks?

Just noticed that now that “show decks” is a button, it’s as if a ghost opened up that public info.

In this spirit of a board game, wouldn’t that only happen if someone reached over and showed them to the table? calling attention to themselves?

I’m suggesting that there should be a readout like “visorjon showed the frontier deck”

It shows it now, right?

Ps I love the buttons, regardless

Nah, I like it a bit mysterious

#

If ya had a good memory you wouldnt ever need to look anyways

tame swan

It’s not a huge biggie, but I think as public information it should be public who’s asking for that information

analog agate
#

So Idk why I should punish those with a bad memory

tame swan
#

They don’t have to look

analog agate
#

Idk, lets say I did out the person, I still cant out all the other people who are also looking, just looking at decks that other people first looked at

#

Unfair treatment there

tame swan
#

That’s true, but they didn’t have the gumption to teach across the table. The looker did ( calling attention that it’s important to them )

analog agate
#

Well if we were in a real game, they would have to have the gumption to reach across the table

#

Maybe its just as important to them, only someone else did their dirty work for them

Well up until you added the show decks, someone had to input the command, and it showed who did it. You changed that recognition slightly

analog agate
#

Yep, and I didnt like how it showed who did it, thought it was unfair

#

Half the reason I added them

tame swan
#

Yeah it doesn’t sit right with me, it’s kind of like someone saying out loud, “hey how many sabos , have been played?” Yeah it’s public knowledge but the person who looked said it.

#

I would argue that if you wanted to mute it then it should send the info to the players hand

analog agate

I dont wanna clutter the hand

Well as you are aware, you are “holding the cards” so to speak. So hats off to ya

analog agate

So Im just puttin the peeps too lazy to do that on the same footin

Again not the hill I want to die on here. Just seemed like an oversight to me, not by design.

analog agate

Well I do have many oversights, but this wasnt one of em. Still, your position is noted, and if a few other people view it similarly to you, and care enough to comment, we might change it

While I have you, I’d be remiss to not express appreciation for how far you’ve brought async.

Heh, dont make me feel strange 😉 I'm just someone with some free time, strong opinions, and an ability to do some basic code. Glad if other people find it helpful as well

Gotta leave it a mystery. You don't want to incentivize people keeping a separate copy of the information and generating the game-specific list of undrawn cards by running discord searches

#

If you can't out everyone who is rifling through the deck of what's left to be drawn, you shouldn't out anyone

For what it’s worth, I’m with VisorJon on this, I preferred it telling you who clicked it. I ultimately don’t care though. Is the most ‘real life’ version of this for the bot to report who’s looking but to report the list into your cards thread?

This could also be made optional per game, in case a particular group prefers to play this way. Though that'd probably require team-visibility to hop into some bot coding to see it done. 😂
