I think we can all agree that progression in this game is very slow, and if you do not play often it can be quite challenging and frustrating to level up your equipment, move up in league, and train your pilots.
Equipment Levelling
The first issue is that equipment levelling is far too slow. There are several ways to address this.
One option is to increase credit rewards at the end of matches and add some additional salvage. This would motivate players to play more outside of simply completing daily tasks and logging off, which is what most players currently do. At present, the only ways to get a substantial amount of salvage are by spending real-world money by buying in game warpreals or buying it with credits from daily deals. If players earned some salvage directly from matches, they would be less reliant on daily deals.
It is also worth noting that most players only buy the 60k and 90k credit salvage packs as they offer the best value. Increasing this salvage bottleneck. Another improvement would be to replace discount events for specific items with resource events that give players extra resources simply for playing. This would both encourage more playtime and remove the limitation of having to wait for a discount to upgrade a desired item.
League Progression
The next issue is moving up in league. Winning rewards are acceptable, with 13 cups for coming first and winning the match being a fair amount. However, if you lose, even if you place first on your team’s leaderboard, you only gain 1 cup despite potentially doing more than anyone on the winning team.
This should be changed so that the top three players on the losing team still earn league points. For example, 6 cups for first place, 3 for second place, and 1 for third place. The bottom three should lose fewer medals, such as losing 1 for fourth place, 3 for fifth place, and 6 for last place. Much less than what we currently of something like -12 for losing and coming last. This is not only frustrating for a player but also can push them away from the game if they’re the type who likes constant improvement. These changes i proposed would make it easier for the player base to reach Noachium, especially since the grind has been made longer recently and players with limited time will struggle.
Pilot Training
The final issue is pilot training. Pilots are incredibly valuable for their skills and are essential, as you literally cannot play without them. However, training them to level 5 takes far too long. Players who cannot play often will have pilots stuck at level 4 for a long time due to the large XP gap.
I suggest three changes:
1. Lower the XP gap between levels 4 and 5.
2. Increase the amount of XP earned per battle.
3. Introduce an alternative method of training pilots.
To show how slow the process is, I managed to go from level 90 to 110 before I even got one pilot halfway to level 5
