The point is that the locust is still an existential threat beyond its prescribed range.

The thing is, the other shotguns actually suffer from one form of falloff or another from range well before they hit the limits of their "optimal" range. I can't think of a single other non-Locust shotgun with which it's actually remotely "optimal" to fight at "optimal" range, except for maybe Scatters. For Locusts, having their pellets spread out over several targets actually benefits them. Locusts do not suffer from distance in the same way other shotguns do, so their range control needs to be more aggressive than with most other shotguns.
idk bisector goes some range, but locust got the DoT, it need a max range nerf, but not too much ,say, 350m, and then fix the ricochet interaction. maybe make it heavy too.

This is the best representation I've seen of the locust in action.
Definatly a 4/5 richochet at far range locust problem.
Bisector also requires you to actually aim and focus your damage on one module, rather than hugely rewarding you for firing in the general direction of a target, and hitting the entire bot.

You know, two things CAN be true at the same time.
I just hope they mostly nerf the range to like 200-250m and maybe a bit the damage 10-20% or so this way it would still be good but well only to 250m so you can not use it to spray people over 500m anymore
id rather they dont nerf the damage, its good as is, besides the DoT doing the most but with richochet, not much without.
Agreed, I still want 3 to be useful.
