#Holofield Idea

Outside of the stock bulwark factory builds, Holofield is highly underutilized at the moment. It is very rare to see any players intentionally use holofield in the upper leagues. One of the main complaints I frequently hear from players regarding holofield is that it also blinds you and your teammates vision. My suggestion to make holofield more attractive is simply to:

**Decrease holofield opacity for teammates and user view only. **

If that's not enough, also allow enemies beyond the holofield to be pingable/lock-on-able/targetable.

Additional rebalances suggested by comments

  • reduce energy requirement by -1, so it is 0w3e instead of 0w4e

I sometimes use it for escapes but other times I see people just mash their magnetos behind the holofield until it hits someone

Yeah unless you can see beyond it (don’t these bots have radar and sensors?) then it’s kind of only good for escapability - and then it’s just okay

what could also be a interesting aproach to make holo field better would be to not having charges so you can use it as much as you want (cooldown still applies)

Let’s make it dump smoke and oil so bots slip and fall down if they come thru it….

What if Holofield acted like chaff/flares and cleared enemy target locks/disarmed kinetic projectiles passing through?

Make it -1 energy as well

Actually if you look close , you can see enemies right through the holofiled

I think it should get more uses.

Best used in ranged battles with punishers to retreat, then find cover to reload/regen sheild.

I believe the hollow field should be in actual field around you instead of wall

Maybe as an ability for a torso , but even still I feel like that would be a pretty weak ability
