#Pursuer Optical Camo Replace Primary Stat Suggestion

I like that one of the recent updates, they rebalanced pursuer torso's core ability to decloak 1 second after weapons firing. However, I think taking 4 seconds after last shot to recloak is a bit excessive.

I'd like to make a suggestion to change Optical Camo's primary stat of "After a x second delay, you become invisible" to a fixed value of 1 second delay because for a primary stat, it seemed more like a redundant or placeholder stat to have only improved from 1.2 seconds to 1 seconds when leveling from level 1 to 11+, and the difference offered no actual benefit to gameplay.

Instead, I would like to propose replacing the delay stat with the following:

  • **"After X seconds without firing your weapons, you can become invisible again while optical camo is still active." **

At level 1: 3.8 seconds
At level 3: 3.2 seconds
At level 11: 2.6 seconds

*based on the current stat's level progression.

Please feel free to leave feedback!

Here's a video to showcase that it is a 1 second delay to decloak after firing weapons, and a 4 second delay last shot to recloak

This could have some pretty serious ramifications with parasite protocol. If the devs are trying to shift the ability to not be as focused on / valuable in actual combat, it might make more sense to buff the Pursuer in a way that improves the ability's utility outside of direct combat, rather than buffing it in a way that pushes it back towards its old use.

For instance, you could make it be able to see enemies though walls while it's cloaked (as though they'd been revealed by echo barrage / recon mode). It would allow the Pursuer to, well, pursue more effectively and make more informed decisions about who, when, and where to attack, without pushing the ability towards being used during the combat itself. Gives the Pursuer an informational advantage to better select and plan attacks, rather than boosting its performance in the attack itself.

also there is a bug with pursuer that people arent talking about

This for sure, either that, or just make it a flat 2 sec.

This way isn't even that strong still with Parasite Protocol either. You'd need at least 13 kills with that to get full invis, and with that many kills I think the other team is already not looking great, so it's fine.

I disagree with adding an additional ability like seeing enemies through walls while in ability to pursuer's optical camo, especially since the pursuer factory build comes with the recon mode cycle gear, which would make it redundant. And pursuer is a common torso, it shouldn't be super complicated.

Invisibility is already a very strong ability, if done right. I think everyone can agree the main issue with the nerf is that 4 seconds to return to invisible is outrageously long.

In regards to parasite protocol, that may be an issue to parasite protocol in itself, and that's should be discussed on a separate #1346485914930642994 post . However, and I haven't done enough testing on parasite protocol to talk enough about it, but you'd need an average of 26 kills if parasite protocol works as an additives or almost never if it works in multiplicatives in order to reach instant return to invisible after shooting. Even then, the problem is still solved because the problem was the pursuer being invisible while shooting.

This is quite nice i like it. Totally agree with the 1.2 second delay stat before you become invisible and how that is decreased by upgrading is utterly redundant sad

#

I also agree the 4 second delay before going back into re-cloak is very much excessive, i would even go to changing the level 13 upgrade to decrease this further as i believe that is more worthwhile for a level 13 upgrade cost. However that would break how level 13upgrades would work as they are always for cooldown with torsos. Probably for another post Foxy_Sweat_Nervous
