The projectile comes out at an upward angle instead of just shooting straight out. It screws with my aim. I'm slowly getting used to it, but it still feels wrong.

no, it's not. the projectiles go above where I'm aiming. try using them in the test range and you'll see. recoil doesn't make your projectile go upwards
