#Wall-Crawler Mech Idea

I think a robot with the ability to walk along walls would be an exciting addition to War Robots: Frontiers!

Imagine a mech equipped with specialized gripping legs or magnetic technology, allowing it to seamlessly transition from the ground to vertical surfaces.

This could open up new tactical possibilities—ambushing enemies from unexpected angles or navigating terrain in unique ways.

It would add a fresh layer of verticality and strategy to battles, making gameplay even more dynamic.

What do you think?

I do like the idea, but no going upside down and the steeper the angle the slower it moves, a wall run mechanic for all robots would be kinda cool and be similar

you could simply just have spider robots not able to fly but can walk on walls(can still use boost)

that or like a hydraulic jump ability

I saw this picture in a channel discussing the same idea

#

Can’t post here dam 😦 why

They said the spider they’re adding won’t have wall crawl mechanics for balancing reasons

#

Whatever that means

#

I think with very mobile robots like Phantom and Harpy crawling on walls shouldn’t be an issue at all

mossy wren
#

they should just add it then they can easily remove it

#

like take risk and be different

tidal frigate
#

Easily remove is not a thing

#

People would get these spider legs for exactly that reason

#

Taking it way would be scamming if they didn’t give you back your money/currency

mossy wren
#

yeah they could just give people back there money they did it before whe nthere was a glitch and people lost thier robot parts

Who says they can't make up a new unique legged robot that can climb walls?

#

Wouldn't be unbalanced as it it's simply just a new gameplay for a robot type, not purely of making it more unfair compared to other robots, instead more of for that extra movement navigating as a different way to move about which was the concept idea.

#

Besides I don't think legs would do damage now would they.

#

And besides, there can be a spider robot that doesn't climb walls and maybe another that can but is more rare.

#

2 legged robots don't make as much sense climbing walls though so yea.

Mainly climbing up walls onto higher surface areas instead of needing to use fuel to fly up onto a tall hill or higher level surfaces.

Walking on ceilings of things, maybe not.

#

Walking up steep walls could be an idea, since the feet of the legs could hypothetically drill into walls of things to basically climb.

The team has been interested in the idea of mechs walking/crawling on walls. However, there would be a massive downside since they can't be crawling forever. It would also kill level design.

If another mech mobile game could do it, so could a pc game.

Could be implemented in a multitude of ways though

Personally, my idea was to give light, perhaps some medium-sized spider-like mechs the opportunity to crawl. It shouldn't be like, say, the same Raijin or Fujin from WR mobile crawling on the walls

@tidal frigate Hi, do you remember I told you about B.o.T yesterday? did you manage to go in there and check some mechanics?
