With the announcement of Consoles arriving to Frontiers in November, here are some comparisons to Controller, KB&M, and some advice:
-
Keyboard and Mouse: With Keyboard and Mouse, you will be using more of your hand to expand your controls. One hand will be used for ability actions, movement, and titan deployment. The other hand will be used for the mouse for moving the camera, aiming, firing, and placing ability targets to someone.
-
Controller: Controllers have it easy. Their keybinds are suited to fit people who get how the shooter genre feels when using a controller. You will have deadzones, aim assist, and some other keybinding settings. Controller players can also bind their buttons to their playstyles.
-
Differences: Keyboard and mouse is guarenteed to have a better reaction time compared to controller players. The mouse and camera sensitivity has almost 0 restrictions. Controller players, while having a disadvantage to reaction times, will have a significant aiming advantage with aim assist.
-
Which is better? : Both are equally good. There actually isn't a better device to play on. It will primarily depend on your optimization. If you have 60+ FPS, you'll be fine. Anything lower and you'll have a difficult time.
-
Which is more comfortable?: Depends on what you're used to. If you play shooter games on Keybaord and mouse, stay on Keyboard and mouse. Vice versa. However, in terms of handing the device, controller players get the win for this one. Playing on a controller is much more comfortable than playing on KB&M.
-
Advice for both: Keyboard and mouse players should already know how shooter games work, so there isn't really too much advice to give other than movement. Movement is something to adpat to, quickly. Controller players, you will have two types of aim assist, strong, and mild. Mild is where the aiming system will slow down your sensitivity by a little bit to help you hit your shots. Strong assist is where the reticle will lock onto a part of the robot and it will be slightly difficult to look away from the target.
Not entirely sure on this one.
