#How do I take my save file and put it on mGBA?
1 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
The EmulatorJS core or the standalone emulator?
I use the demo
I assume you’ve already got the save file?
Or you don’t know how to get it?
I tried to get it, but when i reload it to emulatorJS it comes up with nothing...
A lot of the time saves just don’t work
I can get save states perfectly fine but the file doesnt work thats it
Load your save state on emulatorJS demo. Save your game with games actual save system (Start -> Save), then hit export memory card.
Then load the MGBA game, import the memory card, then restart mgba. Then load the game normally
where is export to memory card? i dont see it
Just press the “load save data button” wherever it is
its what jammcgamer10 is saying. These buttons down here export and import the save file. They are the actual saves written into the game's system, and not just a save state. You have to save in the game the natural way the game handles it, then hit export Save file. This is the most important part. Otherwise you probably are saving an empty memory card
Then on the emulator program you are using to trade your pokemon, you import that save file you created from emulatorjs' Export Save File.
sometimes you have to hit a "restart" function on the emulator after importing it. You do on emulatorjs as far as I remember
Ooooh thanks!
So I just save the game naturally and then download that correct?
Yea pretty much
idk why this is so hard but i just did basically all of it and idk why it isnt saving correctly
so once you load that .srm file, then you hit the button im pointing to
Do no refresh the page as that will remove the save file you loaded
So with that file in hand if you wanted to import that srm file to emulatorjs
Open the page.
Load the Rom.
Choose Gameboy advance
the game starts
Load the srm file with the import save
Then hit restart/reset (the arrows im pointing with) NOT refreshing the page
Then you should be able to continue with the game's natural method
So in short, it looks like you are SAVING correctly, you just aren't LOADING that save correctly
THANK YOU!!!
I did it too, I was confused until the combination of steps worked myself the first time
at least i had an emulator 💀 this be the only one that my school hasnt blocked yet
eventually you can just make a portable version on a flash drive or something!
