#Slow emulator / found a bug?

I noticed that EmulatorJS 4.0.10 to current is incredibly slow, but 4.0.9 runs at full speed and sometimes can fast forward. I was wondering if newer versions could be corrected to run at the speed of 4.0.9, or if there’s a bug introduced in 4.0.10 that is causing the massive slowdown.

Note: Using the Mega Drive core.
Other note: This is not about version 3. The “seam” is between 4.0.9 and 4.0.10.

No changes have been made the the mega drive core sinve 4.0.8, have you tried 4.0.11

Sorry for the late reply. I have tried 4.0.11. I tested all the versions of the Mega Drive core. Everything 4.0.9 backwards is fine. 4.0.10 and 4.0.11 are slow.

Yeah, probably nothing I can do then since I myself didn’t change anything

Huh… I wonder if the problem only exists on iOS. I’m on an iPhone 8 Plus, using Safari.

#

Also, that interface looks entirely different.

Ah. Maybe the problem is only on the demo site.

I’d have to figure out how to do that (my life is a bit full right now). For now I guess I can just play on 4.0.9 at full speed.

I just thought you guys would want to know that there was some sort of slowdown between 9 and 10. It doesn’t seem to affect much except the demo site, but it does raise questions about what changed.

As he said himself -
"No changes have been made to the mega drive core since 4.0.8"

Hang on, I’m gonna test something.

#

Just tested with a NES game and same thing. So it’s not the Mega Drive core.

Nes I can say surely hit 55+ fps stable

Yes.

#

In Safari it’s called “Private.” I have not tested on Chrome.

If u have pc or laptop u can try on that

#

That will clear if it's an ios issue or not for u

Appears to be an iOS issue. It’s perfectly fine in Firefox on my computer. On my phone I tested in Safari, Chrome, and Firefox and they all had the same problem.

#

As for what changed between 9 and 10 that makes it slow down on my phone, I don’t know except that it’s clearly not with any one specific core.
