Can we get carriers in the right role, its supposed to be a 'carrier' and a capital ship an its doesnt do anything well. The SMB is terribly too small. Its painful moving ships like 2 battleships? really and then you have to deal with fatigue etc, its horrible.

Give them 5m SMB upgrade Supers to 10m, for carriers make them same as JFs for ranges and fat cooldown. Let them be proper carriers. Recently did a huge move and its was painful. Let them have high slot weapons, what capital ship would never have turrets? or give them 5 fighter slots not 3 . Fighters are in a terrible spot right now, the cooldown on the MWD is awfully slow. Absolutely be careful they dont become the next slowcats though.

Carriers are great at moving groups of 30 ships around

# tall dew Ya that’s the point. The carrier should carry fighters not ships

Imagine if instead of drones (fighters) carrier could use frigates, destroyers and cruisers. You buy hulls, fit them as regular ships and then load into carrier forming a squadrons - that’s would be cool 😎 basically you could multibox using only one account but manage ~30-40 ships (3-4х 10 ships)

Benefits: huge demand increase for hulls, modules and consumables 🙂

serene yoke
#

They would go with the cheapest M1 modules and the effect on the market would be nothing

solemn blaze
serene yoke
#

nope.

#

when you use consumable, cost efficiency is the most important. Ships would especially be ammos in that case, so meh
Also remember that the fits would be limited to one gun, one propmod, one rep OR one utility. No scram+web+10mn+gun+rep .

#

Finally, the ships would not benefit from the driver's skills so they would mostly be crap.

well done

I mean, I could maybe see something interesting for a three frigate or two destroyer ‘support tender’ tube or something, but at that point I’d just make a ‘gunship’ class of fighter to fill that role, like one of the heavies from Valkyrie

#

But ‘interesting’=/= fun necessarily

If i am not mistaken, several times it was discussed the introduction of mutaplasmid for Mining Upgrades and Ice Harvester Upgrades but i nothing has been introduced so far. It would be great to have such upgrades - it would boost a bit mining but at the same time introduce additional content of creation modified items
Also I’d like to share the idea of creation Strip Miners that increase yield over time – with spooling mechanism, like triglavian turret. After each cycle yield could increase a bit, accelerating mining. It could be done for very long time requested capital mining ship (mining dreadnought) or to existent mining ships.

tawny lion
#

Mutaplasmids for mining yes.
A mining laser that spools, no.

solemn blaze
# tawny lion Mutaplasmids for mining yes. A mining laser that spools, no.

Why? Juts look more precise on the mechanics: 1. You need to have pretty big asteroid to maximize the outcome ( at least you need to have many cycles to be effective) 2. The faster cycles the better outcome - so you definitelly need links 3) The longer you stay and manage each ship for own asteroid - the better outcome, some involvement and necessity to manage mining 4) additional input of minerals to the market - lower / stable price for minerals --> lower price for new ships --> more affordable piloting. Right now CCP adding volume through reprocessing boost etc, which might give the same outcome ( besides reprocessing huge stock of compressed materials inventory - advantage to those who had them before). And the last point - sure it should be crazy unlimited spooling. Lets say now Hulk has 2541m3 per cycle (19.5m3/s) - if you introduce 2000-3000 per cycle spooling that would be great. Lets say each cycle you add 2.5% ( 50m3) so after 20 cycles you will have a bit bigger outcome. In practice - it would increase overall supply a bit, but will create a bit move involved content

thorn lichen
#

if anything it should be the opposite

#

miners that reduce yield per consecutive cycle

severe zealot
#

The issue with spoiling mechanics is they benefit multi boxers and not solo. The game already has people crying about multi boxers killing mining, ratting, complaining about istars and eos crabbing. It's a cool idea do not get my point wrong. It just will cause more headaches then it fixes

#

Do I wish ccp would introduce a new capital mining hulls or unfuck the rorq yes

#

But it is not likely to happen

#

And bazza is right a reverse spool mechanic that encourages higher APM is a good idea. It encourages solo and 1-3 account running vs 20 hulls and a rorq

solemn blaze
# thorn lichen if anything it should be the opposite

Actually I like that idea. Maybe they also could introduce similar mechanics to asteroids as for scanning boxes - if someone grinding the rock another ships can't lock the same. But I agree that multiboxing is a vivid trend in mining, crabbing and FW - multibox just present at winthin the circle. I understand that CCP wants to have to subscriptions but quality is also very important, especially for small scale

tawny lion
median dock
#

how does spooling make it easier for multiboxing

tawny lion
#

Easier was wrong word. Fast/better is what i meant.

Unless it's the exact same or worse than a regular strip miner it's going to benefit multiboxers more (like most things tbh).

The problem of any "difficult" solutions turns into better position for multiboxers. They just add a few more characters to compensate difficulty, but for mining enthusiasts just create additional pain. I don't know the best solution to boost those who mine from time to time to vs those who mine in industrial scale with 20 boxes 🙁 Maybe as an option to introduce npc who mine some belts and killing them, you can loot minerals. I know that some convoy exist, but maybe make a bit smaller than convoy but more often ~10-15m in mineral would be great as a reward for killing lets say 10-15 battleships with miners. That will boost a bit alternative "mining" of minerals but you can do it solo/small scale. Sure, it should compete with other activities - like ratting havens or doing some escalations in total profit to be attractive enough for those who wants to spend 1-2h instead of burning rocks

tawny lion
#

Mining isnt really something that can easily be balanced around solo/occasional mining

severe zealot
#

make it more annoying to multi box

solemn blaze
# severe zealot make it more annoying to multi box

Look, everyone understands that there are a lot of external addons for Eve online that helps you manage as many as you want boxes simultaneously, like you manage one character, but replicating actions for other boxes. So having mining you multiply outcome dramatically. If you introduce lock of the rock and impossible to grind with another box the same asteroid - that would add a lot of actions for each character and more control etc .

tawny lion
# severe zealot increase APM

To increase APM a total rework would be needed. Current state increase APM means a decrease in how much will be mined because no one will mine really

severe zealot
#

is all thats is needed

#

1-4 cycles it mines more

#

5+ less

#

20 sec cycle

#

thats 6 apm per toon + compressing

#

¯_(ツ)_/¯

#

its an idea

tawny lion
#

ye, no one will mine. Mining would tank so hard if that was a thing

#

Only reason mining hasnt crashed is because of the multiboxers

severe zealot
#

leave the current shit the way it is

tawny lion
#

mining would have to have a complete and drastic overhaul along side indy

#

it wouldn't be used then

severe zealot
#

add in something new with hight amp that rewardes that apm

tawny lion
#

since mining solo isnt really worth it

severe zealot
#

im talking about making it worth it

ivory jay
#

why are we getting multiple "integrated" drone BPC from data sites. These are generally worthless and getting 6 in one can is wasteful. Would be nice if we could do something with integrated drone BPC like recycle or research into new drone, even augmented.

#

I have no issue with rebalance but if you want players then improve the mining ships and allow them warp faster than an a drunk elephant. mining ships are generally cruisers and behave like lead. anything it seems can lock a rock faster than them....... like a rock has ecm built in??? Let the miners get some love and care instead of making life miserable for the benefit of poor pvp players. If the pvp ships behaved like mining then there would be no pvp... We need Hunky Cap miner to mine like Hulk or better and large storage and ehp and can fight back decisively against small ships. Not a rorqual which can compress. Imagine the fights over that one.... somthing mid way between rorq and orca but a miner. About 2.5bil hull price.

@thorny marlin We haven't seen for a while any updates on the Minerals. Just checked what's going on with Pyerite and seams implemented changes haven't moved the needle at all. A lot of discussions were around capital mining ships, spools and many other features like set of implants etc that could boost the supply to the market but we barely touched supply through other existing game mechanics:
Active farming of minerals:
• Convoys. Currently we can find mineral convoys at the belts when ratting there, but what about to add them to the missions? Mission could find and kill the convoy with minerals or scan combat anomalies where convoy staging with some guardians.
Expand reprocessing cluster:
• Add some items into wrecks that you can reprocess later – different type of scrap besides existing one
• You can add some additional pieces to salvage that could be reprocessed later into minerals.
Introduce “Mineral Banks”, with similar to ESS mechanics which could collect 20-25% of mined minerals into the system / constellation (even better) that pirates could rob and then convert into minerals at NPC stations. That would attract a lot of people to go and steal / defend in some regions with massive mining activity

I’d like to see more “active” mining rather than just burning asteroids.

be patient. Changes to the economy arent things that happen in days, or weeks. Takes months

ivory jay
#

@thorny marlin is there any way we can stack blueprints if they have same me/te especially the useless integrated drones? Even better let us research them to make augmented or better drones?

#

t2 bpc+ integrated = Augmented or other type?

#

the relic sites are great = just please make the t2 blueprints ME3 or they are useless

#

can we contract all the carbon we get to the CCP developers?

serene yoke
#

yeah, it would be nice to compact one's BPc stash.

north sand
#

guess it’s already time to explain why combining or stacking bpcs is a bad idea again

#

big industrialists hate small-run bpcs

#

they require a lot of clicks and don’t line up with once-every-24-hours (or less often) mass production schedules

#

good!

#

small run bpcs from exploration etc provide a niche for small industrialists and newer players who are willing to make more clicks (because they’re not running 20 indy alts) and haven’t optimized everything for 24 hour (or longer) cycles

#

given how many advantages of scale there already are in eve industry, having a few niches for newer/smaller industrialists is a very good thing

#

yes I know you see those profits on small entropic disintegrators or whatever and WANT THEM

#

too bad, either sit down and run all those 5 minute jobs or accept that that profit will go to someone else who is willing to

#

stop trying to destroy one of the few niches that smaller industrialists have

#

thank you for coming to my ted talk

wooden ridge
#

I agree. Short run BPCs and other things about industry that make things "clicks limiting" literally have had the market morph around this. Stuff with ~2 h build time has super high profit margins because they are annoying to deal with, and this makes them excellent for new players to get started with since they are less concerned with doing stuff at scale then more established industrialists.

So yeah, I agree with esi.

serene yoke
#

yeah, cause established industrialists can't afford to have spare jobs avail…

#

they are not click limiting. They are just worthless and taking space for no reason other that "if I trash them then they will become valuable"

north sand
#

sounds like a hoarding issue then

#

ask yourself whether they spark joy

ivory jay
#

obviously the knowledge part on these is limited! in some circles

north sand
#

not sure what me3 has to do with stacking bpcs

#

I didn't comment on integrated drones, but since you seem to be interested in my thoughts on them I will

#

a means of turning integrated drone bpcs into augmented drone bpcs would either (1) be so expensive that it was useless or (2) crash the market for augmented drones, making augmented drone bpcs also valueless

#

it's a fool's errand

#

it's ok for some bpcs to be worthless

#

just trash them

#

or stick them somewhere and wait 10 years to see if they turn valuable if you want

#

I don't care

I was thinking about manufacturing services in EVE online and idea from real life came to me what if CCP make a manufacturing service as a public contract for those who wants to utilize their skills (free manufacturing lines) making some products for others using their materials and components
How it can be done:
• Players place a manufacturing contract placing all required materials, blueprints and payment for manufacturing at station + manufacturing reward
• Industrialists – if their skills allows to manufacture – accepting the contract start making product. When the product finished, manufacturer gets reward for the contract and produced product goes to those who placed the contract. At the same time, manufacturer when accepted the contract – can’t cancel it until it finished.
So, with this approach manufacturers will benefit of improving their skills of remote manufacturing – because the better your skills the more stations you could cover remotely, and the better utilization of your production lines will be. Also, the more lines you have – the more money you can make.
For other players, who need to produce something – they could get access to better price via contracts if the time is not an issues for them.
Moreover, some industrialists could travel across Eden making public contracts even for other alliances or corporations.

tawny lion
#

isnt that just what the product delivery is for the corp projects?

solemn blaze
#

No, because you need to buy all components, bpcs and pay fee for the manufacturing. I propose to put everything on the customer side - on manufacturer only use skills (manufacturing line) - provide service. Which allows customers to put all components into their station and you just provide them service, even remotely, to make some ships/components.
The same might be done for reactions, BPC copy/invent and manufacturing

tawny lion
#

How is delivering the product any different?
Someone, somewhere had to buy all the components, bpcs and pay the fee for manufacturing.

north sand
#

he wants someone else to do the mental work and he just mindlessly submits manufacturing jobs

#

bot-aspirant behavior tbh

solemn blaze
#

I have resources and BPCs, but do not have required skills to make some components / ships I need.

You have options to place order for component - the manufacturer will buy all resources for manufacturers money, make component and deliver goods. It takes time, working capital and risk that when you ready with your product someone else delivered it and you have on hand stuff that you have to sell on the market.
OR
Customer place contract for manufacturing service (!) and place all resources needed for manufacturing and pay fee for manufacturing - I.e using someone else skills to put all together. In this case customer control all prices for components (or use his own) and pay fee for skills, keeping all profit, except manufacturing service fee.

In real life you have a lot of those examples and it works perfectly, utilizing free capacity of global factories.
