The 'catch without failing" dreamlight duty isnt registering any fish I have caught without failing. I have caught lots of different fish but the duty isnt registering any that I have caught

Issue: when fishing with "hold" on pulling back the line immediately counts as a failed fishing attempt even though the fish didn't bite yet.
With "hold" off it doesn't count as failed attempt

If you have the option to "Hold" to reel in the fish, fishing becomes literally a hold-down-RMB activity.
Just right-click and keep holding until you have caught a fish.

When you start holding right-click to cast, if you keep RMB held down, at maximum cast the bobber will land. Do not release RMB but keep it held down.
When the "Hold" prompt appears to indicate fish has been hooked, because you have RMB already held down, you will start reeling in the fish automatically.
Not clear if this is intended but it seems to be unintended because we get a prompt when the fish is hooked and if you don't click soon enough you lose the fish.

Alternatively, you can hold RMB until the bobber reaches the desired location then release as normal.
Then, before a fish is hooked and before you get the prompt to "Hold", you can hold down RMB and keep it held down. This will NOT fail the fishing even though you don't have the prompt to "Hold" yet.
When the "Hold" prompt appears, you are already holding down RMB so it automatically starts reeling in the fish.

Hi! I'm having a problem with the fish 100 without failing task? I pinned it and on the pin it says 101/100 caught but when I wet to collect the dreamlight it says 48/100 I tried unpining and repining and it stays the same is there something I'm doing wrong?

With "hold to complete fishing" ON, if you reel in your cast before a fish bites (if you miss the bubble circle for example and want to recast), it counts as a failed catch and uses energy. This does not happen if "hold to complete fishing" is OFF.

Issue: (Previously reported for updates 11-12) Despite having enough level 10 fishing companions that the number of bonus fish should be either +1 or +4 (~30:70), occasionally my companion fails to give any bonus at all. It's not super frequent, but happens often enough to be noticable. A new observation is the companion also does not earn any companion experience, so the problem must be that the game temporarily forgets we are hanging out for some reason. I've never observed similar behavior with any other activity (e.g., mining or foraging) it seems to be uniquel a fishing problem.

Fishing 10 tilapia from blue circles SHOULD NOT BE DIFFICULT. I have been stuck at 3 tilapia for over 24 hours and have fished Sunlit Plateau 10+ times. It's way easier catching gold circle fish than blue circle fish. Please fix the blue circles (or limit the starpath fish to like 3 fish)!

My fishing pole will not go back to normal after using the potion on it. It has been like this for a long time now.

If you cast your line, wait about 0.5 seconds and then click to reel (don't wait for the prompt to reel, just reel), this aborts fishing, you catch nothing, and you do the failed fishing emote.
However, XP stars still appear above your current companion's head.
(If you immediately click to reel in after casting the line, this doesn't work. You must wait about a half second or more.)
Not clear if it is intended but simply aborting a fishing attempt and catching nothing without even failing at the minigame doesn't feel like it should award XP.
