No, it's not against the rules. As long as it meets the tag requirements and is not inappropriate (which has happened, though I won't be discussing how) or showing a Valley which breaks the game's ToS/EULA, it can be submitted and voted on. If you run out of skips you can press the back/esc key (whatever your system uses) to back out and get 2 new snaps to vote for.

Very toony! I see Donald peeking in from the side. My only suggestion would be trying to get him more in frame, but I also know how difficult it is to position villagers for snaps so it may not be worth the trouble haha

I can agree. I wished they would give more "toony" items for in either scrooge's shop or the premium shop so that at least we have more to work with for this challenge. The most toony thing i feel many of us got was the characters's houses plus and few items here and there. Most of the toony items we have are more for indoors.

I didn't have high hopes about my bookworm submission, but I still got little disappointed getting just 900ms 😞 okay, that week was so much so beautiful and magical pictures, so that was a tough week to do simpler pic... But when someone who sent a selfie in a skiing jumpsuit got 1200ms, it felt unfair for everyone who at least tried and got less 🥲 okay, voting is a lottery...

As the others here have said, the voting in Dreamsnap is such a gamble. Many of us still don't know how it works still. Just know, it's doesn't make your pic any less fantastic. Don't let it discourage you from doing more Dreamsnaps. Dreamsnap is a great way to practice your decorating skills, tackle new challenges and aesthetics and best of all, to get free moonstones. Remember, some moonstones are better than no moonstones. Plus, as long as you love the pic you made and enjoy it, that's most important. Even if you don't get 4k now, there are numerous opportunities to get it anyway. So no pressure and no rush❤️. I bet your pic looks cute😊.

I definitely agree. In my opinion, I feel there shouldn't be a outfit and decor challenges separately. I feel we should just be given a theme challenge and what tags to meet and we design from there. Because of how limited the clothes, the background is the second thing we judge anyways in case outfits overlays. That's just my opinion.

I think with this weeks tags not having any 4 tag items but a LOT of 3 tag items, there's quite some freedom in what outfit to choose without cutting short on tags.

Well it works

I don't reuse often. This time I did reuse my lost forest area but took a different angle and added things to fit this angle, including the tent. That was an open space and I thought adding a tent would be nice with the theme, from there on I also added more "campsite" items.

Actually when you said that, I instantly remembered this one photo (what i saw, didn't make). It was for outfit challenge, but photo was taken like very high up and showed beautiful decoration, and you didn't even see the character 😂 it got 4k and pretty high rank if i remember right. That was surprise to see

This is the one I referred to that I submitted. It was the camping challenge in the summer. My outfit was fairly obscured, but I told a funny story and the setting was nice so people voted for it. I think a lot of people just vote for what looks nice, not really caring if it's outfit or decor that week.

Maybe just a tad? 😅💜 While this is a beautiful set-up, I think you should rather save it for a future DreamSnap further down the line. (Perhaps for a Hercules-themed DreamSnap whenever we get him.) From what I've seen so far, the community is really embracing the colours traditionally associated with Valentine's Day - namely pastel pink, red and white - for this week. You can still do a Greco-Roman inspired DreamSnap, but maybe lean into the more ✨ *romantic *✨ elements of the aesthetic. There's a stunning Hercules furniture item - the Floral Column Arch - in the Premium Shop that would be perfect for the vibe you're going for. (If you have the Hercules' Landscaping Set that was in the Premium Shop a few months ago, I highly recommend using that.) Pair that with some of the foliage from Mythopia, and you've got a beautiful love letter to ancient Greece and Greek Mythology. 💗 P.S., congrats on winning 4K.

Cupids Runway snap. Thank you! Tbh this is in one of the Elysian Fields trial areas and so it was even more low effort than I normally would do but I just love the setting and it looks like you are up in the clouds. I do wish I could edit it a bit to add some furniture and more greenery or maybe the pink picnic set but I love the setting.

Thank you! I mean you can never make everyone happy I’ve posted every kind of snap and there’s always positive and negative comments. I usually go over the top but I’ve been trying to do a more moderate snap recently but it’s worked well! I got 4000 moonstone for the toontown one so I was happy. My take a hike snap I did something more fun and went with an Avatar/Pandora theme so it could go either way but I definitely had more fun and creativity with it

I started a little late into DreamSnaps with the Fire & Ice challenge, because I wasn't really into doing what everyone else was (which wasn't as crazy/cool as it is now) and then once I focused more on as long as I can submit it and I love it, that's what matters- it made it much more enjoyable!

Okay, this is a first draft. I wanted to challenge myself to try a split screen and went with pink and red. Some Qs...

1. Do we like the balloon arch or nah?
2. Should I add more water lillies to outline the flower heart? Another idea is to use glowing flowers, but I'd have to remove the tile flooring to do that.
3. I know I need better lighting. Still working that out. Stage lights drowned the other lighting out.

And of course, any allusions to characters being romantic with you or other players. Ie: eric is MY man.

You can try fencing off the area so your critter doesn't have far to wander. Also, change to the critter pose then quickly change to the one you want to use. The critter will stay nearby for a few moments, hopefully giving you time to get your shot.

It's really lovely, but I think the flower heart could use a little more definition. I can see it when I look for it, but at first glance it's not as noticeable. I had a worry about that with mine, so I added candles to help enhance the shape. You could also try to get yourself and Daisy more in the center.

This is really elegant! I do agree that there's a bit of empty space. Have you done the Pumba quests? There's a series of short art pedestals you get in one of them that would be perfect to add in the space around the chairs to fill some of that space while still maintaining the look of a walkable gallery.

If doing furniture ones create your scene and hide smaller items that fit the tags behind it. (Ex put a lamp behind a desk) it'll add to the number of mandatory items.
Try and use both mandatory and some optional/suggested items.

For outfit challenges create a background as well or use a character's house, or other building if you can. It'll add to the overall appeal.

Make sure you follow some of the photography "laws" like the rule of thirds, (imagine a grid like tic tac toe board on your image. Your strongest point is the left most intersecting lines. This will be the most aesthetically pleasing spot for your subject to be places in as opposed to directly in the Centre of your picture. The other 3 intersecting lines are good points to use as well. ) this is generally a pleasing thing for people's eyes to view photos as

using height/low point to create depth and movement in a still image. Lighting also plays a key roll, which may mean adjusting the in game setting to off set hours or adding coloured lights in certain scenes as well as using some if the filters on the in game camerw

If you google photography composition rules you can find others as well. Too many for me to list here lol

So here's an example of rule of thirds in a disney movie. The strongest point is her eye, you want the best part of your dreamsnap to fall in that area, as that's where people's eyes tend to look first.

So when creating a scene you want the most important thing to go in that spot. In this case Aurora,

That's the rule of thirds. Where her eye is is the spot people tend to look at first when looking at a picture. So weather it's your player showing their outfit for an outfit challenge, or something furniture wise that stands out for furniture challenges, you want that to be the location it's usually in

Not necessarily focusing on the background. A good background can help yes, but sometimes simple is better. Especially if your outfit is supposed to be the focus.
You still want a nice background that isn't over crowded but you don't always want just a plain wall

No definitely not a messy background. You can hide things that fit the theme (to increase the number of items) behind stuff and keep it neat.

Ex this was a furniture challenge and I have things like lamps hidden behind the dragon, and other things hidden that weren't shown in the picture but counted towards the number of items. I think I had a 10/3 or something like that

You really just have to play around with it. You're given the number of mandatory items needed each week and you can filter for dreamsnaps so get as many of those items as possible in your picture but you can use things that aren't under that as well.

Ex if it says "playful 2" and none of your playful themed items fit your idea, you can hide them behind something like I did with the dragon. (Don't remember the theme but I was going for a Dragon Trainer idea lol)

If it makes you feel better I went to college for photography and currently work in Graphic Design/Editing and I still struggled at first with dreamsnaps 🙂

honestly just do your best and remember even if you only get the minimum 300 moonstones it's still 300 more than you had before 🙂

I love how it looks like you're throwing the confetti! The outfit is great, too. It's NOT ugly - if you wanted to add some things to the edges it may help fill in space, or (what I'd probably do, personally) you can try the square frame instead to draw the focus more onto the outfit and leave the emptier sides off

You can switch it by yourself! Go near your memoryframe, and it allows you interact with it.

If you have many memories (including diary pages etc), it can be long clicking session (i don't know what order they come - same order in your own game at least. Maybe the order you have found them?). And if you go one after what you wanted, you have to start clicking again full round to get what you wanted: you can't go back, example you can't select the memory like from your phones photo gallery, what you want to select, you just to have to interact with the frame by clicking.

🤔 personally I would swap the lights around mickey and olaf for the lilies too so and maybe scatter a few of those lilies around, as if you're parading through the flowers. Especially with mickey. Having only the mickey lamps on the edge of the road makes them a more clear accent too I think.

Oh! That reminds me, I often take photos even when it's raining. In the picture above, it was raining, but it's not noticeable. Shortly after I took it the sky turned really dark, so that would have been noticeable. But as long as the sun is still out, snap away, and nine times out of ten you'll never see the rain 💕

If you have patience, you can try to do "half pose" with some critter. Maybe squirrel or hei-hei (if you're wearing a dress, that helps with illusion) 🤔 so, you do critter pose, and when it's animation gets in that kind of pose you want, you switch "no pose" and click the picture like immediately.

Or if you're wearing a dress/skirt, hei-hei pose could work without cancelling too, if you can hide him behind the table 😁 and angling right

I sometimes feel the winners of dreamsnaps, overload the picture with everything the tag can get, and sometimes the creativity is lacking, and its more "all in your face" does anyone else find that or is it in my head?

Everyone has different tastes, and I tend to not personally like the ones that get the highest amount because it's very overwhelming usually. Too cluttered and bright most of the time, but that's just my personal likes/dislikes.

Also why I don't mind that mine get mid-level results most of the time because I just do what I like and think looks best, even if it's not what most people seem to get high ranking for

Voters definitely seem to like more filled/busier picture, and bright colours and glitters. I adjusted my style to match that more and grew to like it myself (maybe because of that).

However I disagree on the creativity lacking for the most part (however this weeks top 3 has one submission that I don'tsee this as much).
Usually even though it may not always be my style, the pictures in top 3 do look like a lot of thought and effort went into them, and they might feel cluttered but it's not just random stuff.

Its pretty but there is also lots of empty space in my opinion. Even tho this is an outfit challenge, lots of people still vote based on background. The outfit is pretty but maybe rearrange the background to to look kinda symmetrical with clovers/gems at your feet but that's just my suggestion.

My tip would be to make a foreground. You could for example put glovers there and a small heap of ritches in the right lower corner.

If you are trying to maximize your votes it may help to fill in the empty space up front and play with different lighting (menu > settings > graphics > time of day offset slider) to help it be more visible, but it's a cute setup so far!

Not a fan of this week's prompt 😔 Here is what I came up with - pranking Merlin into thinking we burnt important scrolls! (outfit referencing my favorite book characters just because)

Love the outfit! Maybe you could add some things to the foreground in the left and right lower corner. Do you happen to have the confetti cannon? I feel like that could be a nice item that would fit with the scene.
But any item that fits the theme could help make the foreground "join in the picture".

You could also play with the slider of daylight (in the graphics menu) to see if you can get a position where there's less shadow and more light, and see if that makes the picture feel better for you.

Often the light is the prettiest around 6pm when the sun is setting and gives of a warm glow, or around sunrise if the different angle makes the sun hit your scene better, however in your picture there's just a lot of shade and around that time shadows are long so maybe somewhere around mid day where the shadows are really short might actually work best with your shot.

There is a slider in the menu where you can easily change the daylight. And I would suggest just going there, move it a little, see what the change does and if it gets better or worse and repeat that until you found what ligting you like best for your picture.

However it's just a suggestion, your picture is not very dark even though it is in the shade so I don't think it would be a problem if you leave it like this. (Not that it is ever a problem, just that lighter pictures often go down better with voters)

Honestly, many of the submissions were really good. Even the more "simple" ones looked nice. Many people really love this theme.
