Issue: I've been trying for hours now to get my game running again on the PC, it keeps saying "Data is being syncronized".
I've tried online, offline, uninstalled, reinstalled, reset etc. it stays on the same screen. I can't get any further and I can't make a ticket to the support because I can't even see my player ID.

Issue: Can't get my full save from my Xbox to my switch. Uploads the cloud save as if I just opened it this morning after the update. (I've tried syncing it from the settings on my Xbox save and it still isn't working.)

I updated the game to the new winter update (12/6/22) and played for a couple of hours. I noticed I still couldn't complete Ursula's dark crystal quest so I saved my game (I have auto save & the cloud turned on), closed the game, and restarted my computer. NOW when I click "Continue," it takes me to Create an Avatar. I hope I didn't lose my save file (128 hours) even when I used the cloud feature. I'm afraid to do anything until this is resolved.

Issue: won't connect to online services. Comes up with Online Services Unavailable, regardless of which internet connection is used (both wifi and hotspot stable). Can't save to cloud, can't access the seasonal quests, can't quit the game unless leaving without saving to the cloud. Stuck.

Issue: Cannot save to the cloud, only locally. If I go into Settings and select "Save to cloud", I eventually get the message "Upload Cloud Save to Server: Failed to upload Cloud Save to server." If I try to "Return to Title Screen", I'm eventually told: "Error Saving to Cloud. Your game progress has been saved locally, but it couldn't be uploaded to the cloud. Are you sure you want to quit?" Quit anyway takes me back to the title screen. Checking there shows me I am logged in for cloud saves, but if I try to log out in order to try logging in again, I get the message: "Error Saving to Cloud: Your linked progression couldn't be uploaded to the cloud. Are you sure you want to log out?" If I select "Log Out Anyway", I get the message: "Cloud Save Recovery Error. Failed to recover last saved game. Do you want to try again?" And this just continues over and over again if I choose "Retry". I then get a "Logout Error. Failed to log out from the account linked to your email" when I finally stop trying.

Issue: I want to connect my switch with the save from my PS5 to play on my way to work.
But I have the Problem, that I dont have the Button "cloud save" in the menu on my PS5. But if I start the game, under "settings" is a cloud save?
My switch want an email adresse and a passwort, but gameloft says "there is no account with that email".

playing on pc from steam..I have 126.2hrs logged on this game i have cloud save set up i just went to log in and its taking me to the avatar creator. I can not access my save. Please tell me its not gone.
I'm having the same issue! I posted a video of what mine did earlier in this thread. I'm too afraid to move forward with the avatar creating in case it overwrites my save.
I clicked New game by accident and it won't let me log out of cloud save to try and recover my file. Anybody having this issue!?

It's been like this since... I think the second week.
Somehow, it's updated to "out of sync by 9 days" when it was, about "50 (or so) days" before.
PlayStation only supports cloud saves with PlayStation consoles
You can move the save only between PS4 and PS5 not with other platforms sadly

Issue: Ever since the Scar update came it screwed my Whole Progress and I was at Lvl 30 plus i did soo much grinding in the game and made some awesome Custom stuff and now i can't get back on to it... and Im not getting that Cloud save Stuff under new game like everyone else I haven't played since this happen and I contact customer support and Left unanswered 🤷🏿♂️
yep same thing and as M4rze said i also cant log out of my cloud save to try and recover it either. I also have not moved forward or tried to play incase it causes problems trying to get my save back i did send an email to gameloft but as of yet no reply.
Playstation does not support the games cloud save. It is sadly a platform issue. So crossplay between Playstation and other platforms is currently not possible.

Platform: PC still can’t cloud save after the update. Tried for about an hour in background while working. Got a reply from game loft saying they are still working on stability. I guess I will wait and see.
I kinda doubt we're going to get a response any time soon. My advice is to back up your files (if you're on PC). A lot of my auto save files had a ton of errors. Maybe they can save your files but I think all of mine had been overwritten 😭
yeah im not expecting a response any time soon maybe if it happens to enough of us they might say something about it . i play from steam its all on my external and the cloud feature they have but thats a good idea .

Cloud save says it's synced but when going out and back in to the menu is says it's out of sync by the 34 days it was when I synced. So it isn't actually syncing even though it says it is.
Im having the same issue on my Nintendo switch! it will only let me load my cloud save and not the local and im farther along in my local.

Issue: when I log into my PC, the cloud save from my Switch shows and it asks which one I prefer to save. When I go to save the cloud save it shows the loading icon for quite some time and then goes to the main menu. Once I load the game, it only loads the local save.

A thing you could try to at least play your local save further: Disconnect from the internet, then you should be able to load just your local save. When you are in the game and want to in example look at the star path, connect to the internet. If you get problems from connecting to the internet again, at least you know which star path missions you have right now. Disconnect from the internet again, work on your star path missions and when you connect to the internet again, the star path missions should be fulfilled, even though you weren't connected and you can claim the mission awards and so on. This does not help with the local save vs. cloud save prompt issue, but at least you should be able to play again.

I'm not 100% sure this is a cloud issue, but someone on reddit said it was. I've been trying to play my game all day, but it gets stuck on the loading screen and leaves me with a big white box that says initialization error #5. I've restarted my pc, uninstalled and installed the game, i've tried to fiddle with the files on my pc, nothing is working. This is getting really frustrating and it'd be really appreciated if someone knew what to do ;-;
My daughter is having the same issue on her switch as well. She has even tried at 1:00am thinking that maybe that would work. But I didn’t I hope they get it fixed soon.
A reminder for everyone that have the "failed to upload to server" issue like me, do a backup save as often as you can, using the guide #backthatsaveup.
I once lost my entire save, now I do that everytime I close the game. 🙃

Cloud storage is no longer possible since the update. There is always the message that it did not work to save online on the cloud.
Since Playstation does not support the games initial cloud save and you only have the PlayStation cloud to save to, are you sure the issue is from the game itself?
Definitly yes. I was always able to save the game in the game cloud before the update. On PS4 and on PS5. Since the update, this no longer works and the above-mentioned error always comes up. Otherwise it worked the same as on the PC. Except that you can't transfer the game status from the PlayStation to PC etc.

Issue: Cloud Error Save saying I was offline when I have a full internet connection. Selected connect to internet and it opens up my save. But when prompting it save before logging out it again says I am not connected to the internet. I've since closed it down and re-opened and getting connectivity issues.

Issue: bought the game on the 9th and had no issues. The next day the game no longer could recognize that I'm connected to the internet. I've restarted the game, steam, my computer, and my router, but nothing works. I can not do any cloud saves nor open any blue chests (I have 3 in my world right now and can't open them). If I accidently click on a blue chest the rattling sound effect doesn't stop until I close the game and reopen it.

Issue: Cannot save my game to the cloud. I’ve tried logging into my account however it gives me 2 options which is to continue my game locally which isn’t letting me sign in to save it or get an older version I’d have which is at level 1. This has happened before in which I lost my game progress and had to restart but since I’ve restarted, it hasn’t updated my recent save just the old one. If I login to my account it will only give me the level 1 game play I had, which means me starting over. I’ve spend hours in this game so I’d like to not have to restart. I wouldn’t want there to be any future issue in which I can no longer assess my continued local game and it only having “New Game” so I’d like to be able to sign in to stop that from happening. Please help!
I'm having the same issue since last week. The game said it was corrupted then kicked me off and then all that started. It doesn't matter how long I play it won't save my progress. I tried to contact Gameloft for help I've seen others reach out they were able to get help restoring at least some of their stuff. I don't mind starting over to a point but at least let me keep the clothes and other stuff and money I earned. I still have progress I can prove that I was where I say I am. I can't seem to get anyone to contact me.
Platform PS4. Issue. A few. Not being able to save to the cloud is just one of the many issues I'm having. I reached out last week I was working on the toy story quest when the message saying corrupted file popped up. I got kicked off the game I went to start the game but it said my game was never backed up. Which wasn't true I would save it on the cloud and on the game every couple of minutes because the game has a glitch of kicking me off. I tried to load the game it has me back at level 9 with a few Halloween outfits and the Christmas stuff I was able to finish before the glitch. But I can't play it because now it won't save the game at all. It won't even load the page that has the moonstones.

Issue: Having lots of trouble trying to save to the cloud. Keeps giving me the error of "Failed to upload Cloud Save to server." When accessing it through the 'help' section & "Progress has been saved locally but couldn't be uploaded to the cloud".
Been this way for nearly 4 days, didn't have much trouble beforehand besides 1 or 2 error popups before I could save to cloud again.
This will not help with saving on cloud, but at least with being able to play.
Disconnect from the Internet when you want to play, the game should not prompt you to chose between local and cloud save.
Then in the game, if you in example want to look at your star path missions, connect to the Internet, screenshot or write down which missions you have. If you get a problem with the connection, Disconnect, work on your star path missions and just connect again to claim the mission rewards. The game should still track your missions progress, even if you are not connected.
Hope this helps at least a bit.
Yes exactly, however it’s hard for me to start over from scratch since it’s my second time now. All my unlocked characters are at a level 10 friendship, I think I’d lose my mind if I had to do that again lol. But yeah I get it, to a certain extent, like keeping money, clothes and your progress and things earned from the events.
Thank you so much but I can play the game fine, it’s just that I can’t connect to my cloud save. I’m playing locally for now but I’m scared that one day I’ll lose that like last time.

Hi! When I first bought DDV, I bought it on my switch. I bought the Ultimate edition so I received 20000 moonstones. I have a cloud save between my switch and my PC. But my moonstones won't transfer as I primarily now play on my PC. I still have the 20000+ moonstones when I am on my switch, but my PC is under 500. Is there a way to fix this so I can access my moonstones on my PC? Thanks!

There would not be a possibility to back up your save manually to an external drive? I am not familiar with the console.
The (purchased) moonstones not transferring is normal. Just the moonstones you got in game while playing will be synced between all devices. Maybe try to just purchase the star path etc. on your switch until the purchased ones are gone. And if you got cloud save issues on your switch, the thinks you do with the star path will be synced either way, even if your save does not sync to the cloud.

Issue: Lately, after the Toy Story update, I have had issues saving to cloud. My cloud save is now 6 days out of sync with me trying multiple times, resetting my router, etc. Now admittedly my internet isn’t amazing where I live yet I can stream videos, browse the web, etc. without problems and before the latest game update I was able to save/sync to the cloud almost every time without problems.
No you’re correct, I cannot save my local game, I can only play it. It does not give me the option to choose or save it so if I’m to lose it then I’d probably have to start over. I’m sorry if this is confusing. Also, I’m not sure if that works however I can research on that.

I get this error message every time I close the game (since launch). The cloud save worked for about the first 10-ish hours that I played but now it will never save to the cloud. I recently had to reset my computer and lost 20+ hours of progress (but still had all of my items from the Star Paths.??) and I logged into the cloud and got back my first few hours of the game so I didn't have to completely reset, but now it's saying it can't save again.
I can't even seem to locate the save files in my computer so I can't even manually backup my game but I would love to not lose all my hard work if I run into another issue, or if I ever decide to switch platforms...
Hello all. I'm on the playstation 4 and it was saving my game in the cloud but now I want to transfer my saved game onto my switch. I play between my PC (Steam) and my Steamdeck. Since the update the game hasn't been loading my cloud saves correctly. I cloud save after every gaming session and when I use a different platform the prompt will come up to use cloud save which I click on but it will always bring me back to either the first day of the update or the day the blanket fort got fixed. Before the update I could cloud save and switch devices instantly with no problem. Today I waited a whole day before using a new device and it still took me back to the blanket fort. Anyone else having problems between platforms??

How is this the only game in my Steam collection that isn't able to upload to a cloud save? They add socks, and Stitch, and realms, but they can't fix a Cloud Save problem that's existed since day 1?
I've already changed my review for this game to Not Recommended. Maybe it's time to uninstall.
I reported it to game loft and they sent me a generic message saying they are working on the stability of the game and see if the update fixes the issue (it didn’t). Have you reported it there? I’m hoping the more people report it, the more likely they’ll work on a fix.

Can you try to disconnect from the Internet when the prompt for local vs cloud save comes? Not sure if you need to keep the connection on Steam Deck but if you can you should be able to select just the local save and then you can connect again when you are in the game.
i sent an email about cloud save issues on dec 11 and finally got a response

Windows 10 PC via Epic Games. I have been able to save to the cloud 1 time. That was right at the beginning of Scar's entry into Dreamlight Valley. I've only been able to "save locally". If the game crashes and freezes my computer, I lose ALL progress (which this time I was all the way up to level 9 on Stitch). Now I have to do this all again! Why can't I save to the cloud? Even if I try to log out of the cloud, it won't let me. Why? I just want to be able to save the game in case it crashes again!
I started a new game and I even bought moonstones on my new save. When I sign in with my email on the game for cloud save it wont let me delete my old game save for the new one and I dont want to lose all of the stone I spent real money on. Is there someone I can talk to that can take my email and delete my cloud save so I can upload my local save over to the cloud?

yeah i started on the xbox game pass. but when i actually bought the game I bought it for my pc and i wanted to start over but the xbox cloud save wont let my pc locally over ride it. I dont want to keep the xbox cloud save. i even uninstalled the xbox version

Playstation does not support the ingame cloud save function, so crossplay between Playstation and other platforms is currently not possible. Sadly a platform issue and not a game issue.

I want to take my progress with me and switch to his profile so I have the extras

Issue: I upgraded my PC only to have it crash due to memory management issues. I would like to play on my laptop, but I can't because I was logged out of cloud save at some point on my PC causing this issue. I can't log in to the Cloud because I'll be all the way back to when Scar came out instead of having almost everything done (Wall-e's last quest (haven't found the memory) & Peacemaker (leader shard nonexistent).
I hope someone knows a fix for this, but I've already contacted gameloft support.

I Haven’t been able to cloud save the last 4 days.
I played the game as almost every evening and went through a door ingame. The game crashed and after a restart i got this Problem..

I tried to load my local safe, but it wasnt able to load.. I tried and tried but nothing happens there..
when I load the Cloud safefile it works.. but after saving and closing the game after some progress, it wont safe and the same Screen from the picture is Back again..
It feels like so much work and time is now lost forever..
I never time traveled or other glitching stuff..
But I feel lost with my safefile at this point, maybe somebody can help?

Issue: When trying to exit game I continuously receive an error saving to cloud.
I have replaced the save file on the laptop, but I am still unable to use the Cloud as it still sees the save as shown in the image previously attached.
Try disconnecting from the internet before this prompt appears, then it should only choose the local save. When you are in the game you should be able to connect again.

Issue: When trying to get my save from Xbox to Steam all I get when loading the main menu in steam is an infinite loading screen.
When I start the game offline it allows me to start a new game. When I quit after the opening of a new game and go online and reload the game, it comes up asking me if I want to keep my cloud save, which I select but it doesn’t pull cloud save down and only loads local save. Deleting local save and loading the game only puts it back to an infinite loading screen.

I am able to continue playing on my PC but feel discouraged to do so out of fear I will eventually lose my progress. I have been dealing with this since 12/26
launch the game without internet, and once in the game, put the internet back in order to be able to replace the cloud save with the local one ! Hope it work for you
Cloud Save option is not available on PS4/PS5 but does recognize saves between versions. I started on Switch though

Issue: I would use one of the platforms and I would want to play on the other.. but the cloud save won't load into it so it would stay in the "local save". I have always click on the cloud save, but it won't load where I am actually at. BUT if I redownload the game, it works...

So I said earlier that my game was unable to sync with the cloud save and was stuck in a loop, I was unable to play unless I unplug the internet cable. I was in another place for the holiday at that moment. Now I'm back home, with my usual internet connection, and miracle ! the cloud sync now works. How peculiar.

Hi I started playing dream light valley on the PlayStation 5 I created a account and everything, we have recently purchased a Nintendo switch and when I try to login to continue my saved game progress from my PlayStation to the Nintendo switch it will not let me login

Playstation sadly does not support the in game cloud save function. So crossplay between Playstation and other platforms is currently not possible.

If anyone else is having this issue when going from console to Steam Deck, if you can, try to connect to another Wi-Fi connection or hotspot your 4G/5G to your Deck. I did this over new year when I visited my mum and the infinite loading stopped and brought the beautiful message that my cloud save was available…. So happy 😂

Issue: "Failed to upload Cloud Save to server"
As you can see in my picture, I am over 2 weeks out of sync. No matter how many time I try, I can not upload the save to the cloud. Which means I cant play on my Switch. My PC is hardwire only. So I cant even try the hotspot method. I put an official ticket in a while ago. But I dont think anything came of it.

Issue: Not connecting to server.
I can't connect to the online services, so I can't save my game on cloud and cannot access to the events. My laptop is new, I tried with different internet connections and nothing works.
Platform: PC (windows) played on XBox Game Pass. Issue: I can not sync my cloud save. Therefore the only way I can get into the game is by disconnecting my internet. When I try to sync my cloud save it tells me that its unable to save to the cloud.

Issue: save data out of sync, I had a playstation system update that has desynced my cloud data affecting my in game experience, crops not harvestable, scroge shop not updated and missing in game resources, logged on this morning it was 1 day 3 min out of sync, closed game and installed my update, reopened game after update, 4 mins outta sync waited 4 min got fully synced saved and closed app in hope game would fix shop ect, load back in 7 mins out of sync again wait until "fully synced" save, return to title screed save again. Close ps5 down for 20 mins reboot it and back at 10 mins out of sync....
And before anyone says it I DID NOT TIME SKIP!

Issue: when I first got the game when it launched, I purchased on my main Nintendo account. However after about 15 hours, the game was unplayable due to moving the date and time on my switch. So after that, I started a new save file on another profile (linked to my daughters Nintendo account on our family plan, and now have over 165 hours).
Back when the game first came out, I had downloaded the game on both our switch and switch lite. Today I transferred the save data from my daughter's profile from one switch to the other, but it wouldn't let me open it and sent me to the e-shop to purchase it. But it was already purchased/downloaded and I could load the 15 hour save from my original account, but it won't let me open it with the 165 hour save profile.
I'm traveling for work next week and would like to just take my switch lite but only if I can get my save file. Please help! 🙏😬

Issue: Can't login to cloud due to an old save that can't be replaced by the local one (I guess I was logged out at some point). It also says it's always out of date by hours or days (such as today the cloud save was out of date by 6+ days).
Local save is up to date, but the Cloud save is from Scar's update (Oct 2022).
Is there any update to this?
My solution has been to copy the folder to a usb stick and replace it on my pc/laptop when needed, but I would really like to log back into the cloud.

Issue: I got the game a few weeks ago knowing it was going to have some issues in early access and that’s fine, but was really sold me was the cross save ability. I since Absolutely fell in love with the game and was thinking of buying it on my pc or ps4 because I use them way more then my switch. But every time I return to title screen on my switch I get the error saving to cloud message. The first week I played I was able to get it to load without the error after clicking retry a few times and I assumed that meant it uploaded and I continued on. Now I can sit there forever and it will continue to give me the error message and never upload to the cloud. I don’t want to start over since I’ve put in allot of work and have almost finished the quest line. I tried manually saving it to the cloud in the help menu and it doesn’t work. It also says it has never uploaded which means I will have to start completely over if I change devices. I’m connected to the internet. My date and time are synced to the internet and have never not been. Others claim they got it to work for them but I have failed at every try. Please help !
Cannot help with the cloud issue, but I have to mention, that the cross save does not work between Playstation and other platforms, so be aware of that before buying.
[PC Version of Xbox gamepass] I have been having issues with the cloud save not working when exiting. I tried the manual cloud save in the help menu and it worked yesterday but not today. I restarted my game and pc as well as made sure im connected to internet

Issue: in both devices, when I trie to log in with my acount, even if I click on the button that says "sing in", the screen forsts, and it doesn't sing in
I keep getting the same messages when I try to sign into the cloud - have emailed and messaged gameloft as well as DV. Also noticed gameloft online login is down with an error of 4003 if anyone else gets this. Hopefully they'll reply soon

I have got ultimate edition on 9/11 and I have been able to go online once and created a cloud save however after that whenever I played the game it has always been offline and that means I am unable to cloud save as well. Once ı have lost all my progress and had to start again after that I also lost all the perks I got from the ultimate package. Now I can only play the game offline and I have tried every solution on the internet to fix the issue but nothing worked. Whenever I turn the game on I always try to work the cloud save and for a while I have always got the "unable connect online services try offline" error. Today however I started to get "invalid credentials" error even though my email is connected and known by the game because if I say reset password, the game does send my email a reset code. So my account is there but I cant access it somehow.

I have tried several times to connect using both of my email addresses but it just tells me the credentials are wrong.. and there is no way of checking what credentials my Xbox used to set up the account… and there is nowhere to put a user ID which is the only identifying info I can find!

I hadn't logged in for about a month (the game says "out of date by 46 days, 12 hours", but it always says longer than it's actually been). I have tried repeatedly today to save to cloud, with no luck. I tried qutting the game and then starting it again; no luck. I can save locally, but it's not synced to the cloud.
Were you able to find a work around for this? I have the same issue. I'm nervous to press new game and it erases all my progress

I just got the game pass this week so wanted to try dreamlight valley. Maybe because I'm trying to log in on my laptop instead of my desktop this weekend, coming back to my regular computer, I had a bug with my saves and lost everything. I came back to level 4 as if I had just launched my first save. Even the local desktop is gone.
Other the fact that it bothers me to have to start over, I'm especially afraid of playing and losing everything again....

In addition, tried to report the issue on the Gameloft Support website; filled out the form, attached a screenshot, did FIFTEEN "prove you're a human" puzzles, and then the form wouldn't upload! Did that twice (for a total of thirty time-consuming puzzles); form wouldn't upload either time. Really disappointed with Gameloft right now.
