Issue: Froze and had to restart game when trying to harvest vegetables. The harvest prompts were there and the game world was still moving around me but I couldn't get out of the harvest option and my character wouldn't pick any vegetables. This was less than three minutes after a crash when I opened my clothing inventory.

Issue: Game crashes every time you go into the create clothing mechanic. This happened since the update with Scar. Please fix as soon as possible. I paid for the top-tier level of this game and so far I’ve been very disappointed. Basic gameplay is frustrating and difficult since the “early release” launch; especially because the game can crash at any moment, which brings a much anxiety to the play experience and I constantly have to save every 1-2 minutes to avoid progress loss. Auto save doesn’t catch a lot, especially with crashes.

The game used to crash every 15-45 minutes before the Scar update and now there are even more things that cause crashes. I can barely even play the game without constantly restarts and anxiety about what minute it will crash. This consistent crashing is the biggest glitch of the game, but there are still a lot of other glitches. Again, please fix this as soon as possible.

I know the game team (designers, coders, creatives, etc.) are probably very overworked and are stretched very, very thin, so I don’t blame them. They’re doing they’re job and following the direction of the higher ups in charge. However, whoever is in charge (makes the launch date decisions, has final approval, gives overall direction of the game, etc.) should have pushed the launch date wayyyyy back into 2023 or 2024 because this game very far from being ready for even and “early release.” Honestly, it feels like we all paid to beta test and I think the marketing greatly exaggerated how far along the game is. For example, Belle is on the marketing, very prominently, but isn’t in the game. The same with Scar pre-10/2022 update. The fact that it was early release was not large or super upfront either. It’s disappointing overall.

Issue: crashes every 4-5 minutes mid mining or harvesting anything, even herbs and flowers. The screen goes black and then has the frozen picture of the game, but has a spinning circle in the middle of the screen like it's trying to load. I have to ctrl alt delete and end the task as none of the buttons on my controller do anything at this point. Today I manually saved every 1-3 minutes just so I don't lose my progress when it inevitably crashes, but I wasn't doing this before and it was still crashing. This has been a problem only since the update, and it is every time I play now. I left it a few days to see if it would sort itself out, but no dice. These crashes make the game unplayable, and I was playing every single day before this. I'm so frustrated with the constant crashes that I'm just not going to play any more now until I see these problems have been sorted in this chat.

Platform: Switch, Issue: Ursula The Ritual Quest. I planted the enchanted flower and the game crashed. When I reopened the game, Ursula says watch and see what happens, but nothing happened. The flower is still a flower but I can no longer interact with it. This has stalled my game and I cannot move forward.

Issue: Softlock - loss of all controller function. Unable to quit the game through the normal menu. This issue occurred after clearing a night thorn in peaceful meadow right near the left path for the Dazzle Beach. update: Don't know if it was simply luck or actually is a workaround, though if you're having the game crash while taking a photo, we were able to progress on Switch by making the camera capture the entirety of the screen, and do the widest view of the character. Hope this can help someone!

Issues: freezing/crashing/frame drops

It happens so often and I don’t think the game is optimized well (for Xbox; unsure of other platforms). There’s lag/drop in frames, all the time. It’s not even an indicator of when a crash will happen because the frame drops are so constant. I can get maybe 30min of gameplay between crashes.
While frame drops happen constantly in every area, they are most noticeably severe in the Forgotten Lands. Crashes are seemingly random in my case.

Issue: I just had a major glitch at Scrooge's store. I went to buy things, and the first two items I tried to buy (a white stag that hangs on the wall, and a silver and blue inlay flooring pattern) said that there was a transaction error? I was able to buy everything else in the store with no problem.

However, while I was still in the store, I tried to put on some clothes I bought. It would show me in the new clothes as I built an outfit, but then put me back into the same outfit that I was wearing previously when I backed out of the menu. It did it several times before I gave up trying to change clothes. I thought that was odd, so I saved the game and then restarted it.

When the game restarted, I went back to the shop and everything was bought out, except there was a new bed on the second floor that wasn't there before. There was a red, long kitchen island there before I restarted the game, which I did purchase before the restart. I figured that was weird, because I've never seen new items in the store after I've bought it out for the day.

Then I went into my menu to find the items I'd bought before and realized that everything new I bought today wasn't in my inventory (that included some icy purple earrings, a light gray vest, orange cat ears, and various other items). The things I ordered from Scrooge before I reset my game were in my inventory, however.

I'm so confused. Has anyone else had this problem? Is there a way to fix it so I get my items back? The gold I spent on them is still gone but my items aren't in my inventory.

Thought it was just Steam but same thing happens on gamepass so it might be on other platforms too. hi I have two problems I think I am in the right one to see if it is.I haven't seen it in the known bugs so
I noticed when I go to give a requested item to the one who requests it it like bugs where I am stuck on the confirmation screen and in the background the character receives the item and goes on to the next part of the quest and I am stuck in the conformation screen
I usually exit the game and then re load the game and then re hand the item to the character also I think the one memory with wallie where the memory photo pops up when you mine well it frozen on that too and had to exit and go back in and then run over and re pick up the memory and also just thought about the fence problem too I go to the fence section of the crafting station and then I change my mind and want to go to one of the others and well I can't I have to exit out of the whole crafting station to be able to go and look or craft something on one of the other parts of the crafting station

it has to do with where your game is saved, not whether you are online or offline. The game cannot retrieve your save if it is on one of the affected server shards

The update was not for the loading issue, but it was a planned update for issues detailed in the changelog. The issue you encounter is a top priority case for the developers and certainly doesn't need an update because it's a server side issue apparently. I was taking a picture to commemorate my leadership. And uh… I changed the angle of the photo by mistake. Moana wasn’t fully in the picture so I tried to change the border of the image. Instead I turned the camera angle and now I am stuck underground.

Interesting, I have a 3070ti...maybe it's a hardware compatibility issue. That said, I tried updating to Nvidia's 526.47 driver (the one that's been really bad for MW2) and it caused the game to crash even more often for me. Rolling back the driver helped a little, but I still had crashes. I manually updated to 526.61 that has fixes for the MW2 crashes that 526.47 caused and I'm interested to see how Dreamlight Valley responds to that driver. I'm a software tester by trade, so I'm kinda obsessed with trying to figure out why it's crashing for me 😂

Thought I'd share because a few people had this issue. My game would crash everytime I tried to bring Moana out of her realm, severely limiting gameplay with ariel characters as well as Moana and Maui. I resolved this by logging into my cloud save on a friends switch. I don't know of any other way around it, but changing consoles worked.

Through some extensive and infuriating testing I managed to find out the problem might be connected to the cloud save. Or rather the game's complete inability to connect and upload it when I want to exit the game. I finally managed to get the game to load yesterday and got to play for 6 hours. Great. Only today there's "Cloud save conflict" between the local save and cloud, the cloud save is 6 hours behind, and trying to "Keep the local save" does absolutely nothing. I could maybe play on the cloud save, but why would I when I have no control on when or if it will actually save my progress. Please, please devs do something about the cloud save issues. Or just turn it off until you figure it out. And for anyone with similar issues when booting the game: for the game to load I basically have to: 1. uninstall the game, 2. reboot pc, 3. install game, 4. reboot pc, 5. verify integrity of files and reboot pc AGAIN and then if I'm lucky the game will finally load.

Yes but the pick up option shows up and then I get stuck in that spot and can't move. I did it a few times to see if it was a Bug. I got stuck each time and had to restart the game.

For anyone having “Game initialization error 5” I have a fix for PC. I was able to fix mine finally. I had to login into steam on another computer then download the game, After that I uninstalled and reinstalled on MY computer just to be safe. I am confident that there is an issue between cloud save and local save causing the error!

So it's caused by more problems with item designation. (Pickup/Remove)
I honestly don't know how this keeps happening, but hopefully the code can be fixed to prevent it from happening in the future.

I updated my graphics drivers, "repaired" the game using the tools of the Xbox application on pc and launched the game as Administrator but the game still crashes.

Day 3 - Nintendo Switch; cannot play this game without continued crashes; no schedule, just crashes whenever (no specific task, with exception of trying to take a picture; I’ve completed all the quests, and I avoid going through doors, or using portals). Still crashes. Very frustrating. I only take a photo at the beginning of a session, before I’ve done anything, to avoid freezing and crashing. That helps with taking the photo (only reason I even use the camera is because of the daily tasks). It’s become a fairly frustrating experience, and I really, really hope the Switch crashes can be rectified.

When receiving a memory orb, if you press escape before clicking out of the memory, then the collections tab closes, without the memory closing. This doesn't actually crash the game, but it does make it so that you have to close the game from task manager.

I had one behind the pillar in the pond as well ... you can move the pillar and then move it back after moving the flower or just go into furniture and move the flower to a more reachable spot. It seems as though even though we can't walk through the pond part, flowers can still spawn in that area.

Platform Switch: Just a follow up on game play today; I managed to play for almost an hour, no crashes (very rarely gets past 45 mins). Was fishing with Moana, and after I said, “she ya” I want into the meadow. After picking up a few items, i went to goof’s crafting station, and the tab for fencing/path was visible. I was so excited; I made a couple of different paths, then went walking up toward the plaza. I decided to save; which it did; but game crashed when I closed the menu to return to play. The items I crafted were still there in my inventory.
