I just crochet whenever I have some time to spare or need to relax(I’m 29 years old and I crochet 🧶, it definitely isn’t something that has to be for when you’re older; some people think that, but that’s not the case, it’s really good for your mind and hands).
Mostly, I find my patterns, or learn how to crochet on Pinterest and pin the pattern/idea there to go back and look at further later. It helped eased me into crocheting.

It helped that my Gram bought me a little Crochet Kit to nudge me into trying it and for a few years I wouldn’t but just last year I did and honestly the best thing I’ve done in a while. It can be monotonous sometimes but as long as you have good music or a nice movie/TV show on, then it’s a nice way to keep your hands busy.
