Ahhhh! So actually its just the time of day+lamposts! here is the overall layout, and when i change the time of day you can see the light haze! theres blue lights on the "outside" and yellow on the "inside" to try and replicate the look of a screen :)

i think a companion works better as whilst he has had an impact on that universe, having him as a notable companion means we can assign him to mickey and have them walk around together which is cute, it also means that they dont have to think of another way for us to communicate with animals 😭😭
