the story kinda forces you to go through the path of

plaza, meadows, glade, beach, forrest, sunlit, frosted heights then forgotten lands.

if they are trying to go for money then

plaza, meadows, glade, sunlit, forgotten lands. (glade will provide okra which can make 100k by planting 150) but this will allow you to be able to afford the stall in the forgotten lands (as well as money for scrooges) once you unlock the forgotten lands then you can plant 100 pumpkins and get 100k back (having more gardeners will get you rmore back)

yeah theyre set locations. its moana, frozen, walle, ratatouille, mickeys secret room, and then around the castle for all 20 pebbles. Also need dark castle for the fox statue itself so you need to be pretty far in the story

Hi everyone! Just asking if someone have been having really bad lagging in Storybook Valley after enter any building (home, scrooge's shop...) since the second part of the story was released... Since then it's impossible to continue playing and everytime i need to enter some place, i need to teleport to the valley or other DLC to stop the lagging and come back to Storybook Valley. It's getting really annoying... and with each update the bugs just keep increasing. I'm a chill person and i understand all the hardwork the game developers are putting in the game. But i'm getting a sour taste on my mouth with the course of what Gameloft are doing with DVD, because i'm feeling that the quality of the game are decreasing but are getting camouflaged with some good features added. Not to mention the premium items increasing, prices rising, the scrooge's shop with less items each update (any clothes for a long time and they just trow something random there, horse ears, tiger tail...).

I don´t know if this is the right chat to talk about this, but i'm growing really frustrated with the game. I love Disney and fell in love with DVD since i started playing it around october or november 2023. But i'm feeling that DVD are not the same and for worse, DLC's prices increasing with items that in the first DLC gave us with early acess for 29,99. Then they come up with the magical versions (more 20 euros) to get the items, then items started vanishing from scrooge's shop, everything go straight to the premium, then started with the seasonal bundles to get us to pour even more money in the game if we want the outfits, premium prices increasing too, quality are getting worse in some cases, all the bugs, the clipping... I was really chill with everything and all that little things, but i feel character's stories and missions became less creative, mostly repetitive and end being shallow. Dreamsnaps are not even fun anymore, because it just turned into a premium shop advertiser: "buy premium shop to match the tags for this week's dreamsnap"... That gets us really restricted and honestly just grow my frustration. This last year i think Gameloft went way too far. I was a big supporter of this game and when i say that i love Disney, believe me... I looooove Disney. DDV was my cozy place, my comfort game, where i could just relax and get my heart melted with the character's little interactions. But i'm feeling let down and betrayed by gameloft.

I only started a year after the game but I don’t see an increase in the dlc price necessarily. EI didn’t give us as many items as the other DLCs have to me plus you don’t have to pay the deluxe version for the limited items. It’s like any other game with limited edition items or micro transactions. It’s going to push you to buy. But you don’t have to. It’s just FOMO. And feeling burnt out after so long of playing the same game and seeing the cracks in it.

Unfortunately, as ive been told by another regular multiple times, this game is following gameloft's typical playbook. They care (or pretend to care) for a couple of years and then slowly but surely everything becomes a microtransaction.

I don’t think I was playing during that time. It was already out when I got the game I believe. So yeah. It still just makes sense to me cause it’s a normal practice to have a deluxe version of stuff. Sure I wish it was cheaper or just given and the premium shop has gotten more expensive it seems. EA totally does. I haven’t bought a Sims pack in forever but I know it’s a bit for a kit or something that is basically just small stuff added to the game. And yeah I agree DDLV isn’t the worst either transactions you don’t have to play to win honestly. Which is great. It just sucks if you want the premium items and all or a completist.

I agree smaller hotfixes needs to become priority at this time with the launch of a new DLC/update.

That being said, Im curious if the majority of the bugs is being incurred on specific platforms. Im a PC player and while I have some bugs which is to be expected, its in no way not playable for me and most of the time, any bugs I encounter are easily fixed by saving and relaunching the game.

as far as micro transactions go, i buy very little moonstone and very rarely buy anything from the premium store other than the star paths and still manage to get upwards of 1800 moonstone for the dreamsnaps utilizing things ive gotten from friendship quests/scrooge/previous starpaths. Its def a very manageable game without buyng anything. its in no way pay to play. but if you want the extravagant items, then sometimes youll need to pay extra. Im just picky about what I spend money on.

I would say this is varied and fully depends on expectations of the platform as well as what everyone values themselves. There's a lot of visual bugs or glitches that don't bother me personally (like the disappearing clothes/ body) that absolutely send others. To some its an inconvenience and to others its a huge issue.

The largest bug that has been an issue since early access for this game relates to the auto-save frequency and game crashing. Say you have to give a quest item to someone. You do, and the game freezes. So you wait the 5 mins for autosave and reload, except the autosave only saved that the item was given/removed from inventory but not that the quest progressed. That then becomes progress blocking unless customer svc can help with an earlier cloud save, you have a manual backup to restore, or the devs fix it.

Funny enough (yes i am biased hush ) I really enjoyed CInderella's quests because they weren't the same slog as every other friendship quests have been lately.

Not saying they were terrible but I like the early character's friendship quests alot more.

Well, it's not giving the new players a full page of premium items and the new creation of 8000k moonstones discount bundles that include basic items (with just a new recoloring of bushes and trees that should be free) or premium dreamstyles that costs 2500 moonstones for cinderella where they just trowed a cap on her... ridiculous... and i understand giving more inicial characters for missions in star paths for the new players (that is definitely needed for them, but not for all the missions of new characters... it's just getting completely boring). It's always the same... cinderella was inside a pumpkin all this time and all she's says was that she was comfortable... like... really? And no new items added in scrooge's shop this update? Are you kidding me gameloft? no clothes there anymore either. even the items from others updates didn't shown their faces in the shop. And it's like i'm seeing the same exact items rotate the shops daily....
And yes we only pay for the premium shop items if we want to and that was exactly what i could do a year ago. but yes, i think premium shop items are getting more pricey and the amount of premium items have increased (with items that shouldn't even be premium). We don't have any clothes on scrooge anymore! zero, nada, nothing. And yes, it's a crime the creation of the seasonal pack bundles. because if you want the outfit you can't buy it with your moonstones. you need to put the money. It's enfuriating.

The npc do have to be highlighted on the map so if you are needing specific cast. Make sure they are the only ones available on the map this will reduce unwanted npc and help w your limited npc options. They cant be inside a building you must go old school and drag them out (can use an outfit change to get 2 npc out but if ur needing them on an island this trick wont work)

Yeah. I’m starting to get no items a lot. It’s kind of upsetting. I check all 4 stores every day. Just to make sure I haven’t missed something. They used to at least add a few clothing items every month. But their focus has switched to the premium shop only. Some of the items going there don’t seem to be worth the moonstones to get either. They should be free. I get they need to make money to keep giving us new content. But they seem to not have a great balance of items between free and premium anymore. The guys who play have been asking for more outfits for them to wear. They would be the fairest thing to do. Maybe start introducing more male characters and have their quests lead to male styled outfits. Some outfits do seem like they’d be fine on a male avatar. But the current path has only like one and I think it’s a jacket. The frilly tops aren’t even something I’d put on my female character. I don’t care for the look. I thought the new hat would be great. But it looks goofy. Maybe if I didn’t lose my hair when wearing a hat.

I notice the characters get added but there’s zero way to position them which makes the feature useless. Or they freeze on a pose I don’t like. Until we can literally place them and change their poses individually it’s not great. Matter of fact they all stayed frozen and wouldn’t move after I closed out of photo mode, when I was trying to figure it out. The one I had following me stopped and wouldn’t move. I couldn’t figure out how to get any of them unfrozen. I restarted the game to fix it.

Soooo, given it’s been a while since she arrived I may have just missed others talking about this, but I just finished Cinderella’s quest line and can I say how annoying it was that the quest rewards were all of the female gender persuasion with not a single thing I’d put on my Avatar when playing the male version? Like I get it, Disney Princess Character. But off the top of my head both Tiana and Ariel have male and female outfits at the end of their quest lines. Why not give us Prince Charming’s outfit along with her pre transformation gown?

Yes a few of my friends have had that same problem too. Like when they add characters via finding quest items in the valley like the glass slipper and then it spawns somewhere they can't get to or can't see it because its behind a building or something. 🙁 I actually put all my decorations away recently because of this and just decorate the islands now.

its not just switch all platforms are having this issue.

try this

if npc has an outfit change; if they are in a building go to them. and change their outfit this will reset their chat commands -this is guaranteed to work

go to an island and summon them by highlighting their pic in the character menu/map -go in and out of a building if they dont immedietly show up bring their house up there can also help-

restart your game -though this may or may not always work

if they are outside just follow them around a lil bit allow them to finish what they were doing. -so if goofy is on a run go jog with him until he stops

use a summoning station. (there is several) keep using the station until you get desired character

I don't unfortunately, I was trying to get done with star path quest of talking to the characters 4/15, i took a few days break from the game because i have a weird problem with my thumb being in pain sometimes.

I'm still working on trying to get the red dot to go away ( thanks to that one person who told me what to do and what i was missing in the game) so I thought it was just a glitch going on that only appears with the gift of giving event because if i recall correctly other players had this issue last year.

put 50 pumpkins into your storage (not backpack)

wear a mask

gift 10 pieces of candy to any villiager (even if it is the same villiager )

eat 45 pieces of candy

this will give you 5 halloween items!

This issue has been happening intermittently since the very beginning of early access. Even if it appeared after crafting Bing Bong, you might run through this list anyways and see if you can get it to clear.

A ticket won't help though. Support is customer care, nothing more. They cannot resolve this. And devs don't work on individual games.

I think it's mostly got to do with their trademark looks. The one most would recognize them as. Say someone hasn't seen Beauty and The Beast, they wouldn't really know who Adam is in his human form. But even if you haven't seen the movie, you'd know who beast is or could at least pin point easier.

Rapunzels trademark is her long hair.
Lumiere and Cogsworth you see as a clock and a candleholder for most of the movie.

With Ariel, her movie is like 50/50 mermaid & human. and so on.

I think, and this may be a very simple view on it (meaning, maybe it's more complex than that), we get characters according to their movies' popularity. This doesn't mean that a certain movie wasn't good, just that it may not be the overall favourite of the majority. That's why I believe we get a very "unorganized" structure of which character(s) come in like no particular order that would make chronological sense. Like if we started with snow white, then went onto aurora, etc. The priority list for GL is probably favoritism of viewers aka "most viewed/liked".

I meant iconic more as in old Disney, like beginning Disney Era (with Mickey and friends). And this is also the point of why a lot of people did not know about Oswald in here, what you mean - the demographic of this game is a mix of younger kids versus millennials & Gen x (also of course older, but the majority is in those two categories). The younger ones, let's call them gen Z and gen Alpha (which I, despite my year of birth according to the internet, do not count myself into) mostly know the movies and series from, say, 2009 onwards. If I had to put a name on it, I gladly call them "Generation Frozen" 🤣. Some may know the older ones too, but it's not in their generation, so not 'native' to them. With millennials, we/they grew up on Aladdin, Lion King, Lilo & Stitch and so on.

So with Oswald, I'd say only the OG of the OG Disney Fans do know about him. I mean, he's a very old character and has been in, what, one or two games from the modern era? He was basically just left out of marketing, that's why he's not known as much. I mean, Frozen was 2013 and there's still Backpacks, pencil cases, Dresses, Shirts, etc. in the shops these days, 12 years later :D. I get that! I used to play sims a lot growing up (up until some months ago actually, but only building and decorating, not actually simming) and I’ve found smaller spaces always waaaaay easier to decorate, that’s why I understand how you feel about the houses in DLV versus the outside. For that reason, and that’s my recommendation to you if you’d like to start decorating your biomes, just do bit by bit. My biomes are definitely not finished, but almost all of them have a tiny area done, because smaller space = easier to finish the big picture in the end. So I add little by little whenever I get creative, so it’s basically small areas next to small areas that create the biome in the end. But boy, did I re-do my valley about 10 times now till I got to this point (it used to be almost fully done once till I started disliking the way it looked). 😊

The red dot is from quest items that the villagers have you place - like hades stall for example - if you don't pick it back up, the game registers it as owned but not owned at the same time. So i went into scrooges shop and bought the different quest items and then the red dot disappeared. I do this everytime there is a red dot that wont go away since the game gives the filter by "new" option now and honestly it's easier to buy from scrooge than to go the different biomes to find whatever quest item is glitching

Yes, my little Switch didn't thank me when I replaced over 1700 pieces of path on my Plaza with something different, and then after an hour, decided I preferred it as it was, so changed it back again, took forever waiting for it to finish replacing the path 🤣

just a quick side-note (more like a side-complaint): I've written down all the characters (basegame only) that I still have to lvl and finish, because the overview in the collection tab is more confusing to me. So far, I have 7 villagers open (various levels, ranking from 3 to 9) and THEN I can/will move onto the remaining 6 which aren't unlocked yet (namely lumiere & cogsworth, Cindy, Joy and Sadness and Peter) 😩 and that all BEFORE I can (or better: before my brain will allow me to) start the DLCs one by one.. this is gonna take a while, I guess. I just hope to finish as much as possible in a short time so I won't continue to have this pile of work when the next big update comes.. Please you guys, remind me to NEVER leave the game again for such a long period. My adhd in coop with my OCD can't handle this. 😂 [rant over]

Definitely! If you love stories, the characters, decorating etc. it's definitely fun. However, there are no core gameplaying mechanic changes aside from catching snippets to create tapestries.

It's not intense in terms of resources. It's definitely more balanced but you can place rift in time vaccuums in storybook vale to make it easier.

@glad inlet I would highly recommend it. You could always get it while it's on sale but wait until you have completed a rift in time first. If you like Disney Princesses, there is even a hidden ||quest between Rapunzel and Flynn/Eugene once they're both level 10||

hmmm. I definitely see what you mean. The winter lamp does bring more balance to it, while the candy cane one might go under in all that candy cane fence.

But, I personally do tend toward the candy cane one if your idea is "christmas" rather than winter wonderland. Do you know what I mean? 😊 (maybe I'm the wrong person to ask, because my style, by now, is cartoonie-vibrant rather than realistic, so I'd def. go for the candy cane one 😄 )
