Yes MGs are only good for laying prone behind smoke. 1 year ago vanilla mgs were rather easy to spray on distance without aiming, too easy.

Something in between those extremes is probably good

I have posted that many times, a lot of people want to have a easy kill but they never think about the consequences it brings. Other players complained about it a lot and that's why it was changed.

I think it’s good the way it is now, I play MG a lot too and I think it’s fine.
Realistically if you have an MG you shouldn’t win a 1v1 against someone with an ak or ar15 because MGs are not made for CQB or 1v1. You should use it to suppress enemies and shoot at hot zones while mounted

#

And I even manage to get 1v1 kills with the MG if you control recoil and shoot short bursts it’s doable

Just a very slight reduction. Like Sly said, ppl just want free kills, i dont want it to have no recoil at all cause that is just plain unfair. Again, just a teeny weeny reduction.

Oh hey skill, didn't realise it was u at first.

The LMG recoil was reduced slightly in the most recent hot fix. LMGs with higher rate of fire were reduced slightly more then lower rate of fire LMGs to make their recoil feel similar.

I am not sure exactly what is expected here?
Firstly, an LMG/HMG with superb accuracy is actually not a boon, it is a bane.
That is not how light and heavy machine guns are employed.

They are suppressive, and to be effective at that, they need dispersion, not pinpoint accuracy.

They generally work in concert with supporting infantry, who handle the precision targeting.

It is very hard to suppress an area with a gun that has little to no dispersion

Well, since no one builds FOBs or Rally points, fear of dying and walking 5 miles is real
