#Tired Arms

I noticed that I could ADS the M1919 beltfed perpetually without any apparent adverse affects on my accuracy. No wobble as the arms get tired. Might help to balance the formidable heavy long guns by adding this.

while i feel like arm fatigue is a decent idea in theory, i often find it to be a bad feature in games in actual practice--you cant convey arms being tired through a monitor and m+kb, so its a hard thing to actually regulate. have you tried the latest dev build btw?

Add increasingly slightly sway for non-braced ADS at a certain point? I'm fine for minimal sway once you initially go ADS, but there's should be a tradeoff made. Stand there and fire for mainly suppression, or in a panic situation. Or, if you want accuracy, brace your weapon/yourself. Obviously, different amounts of sway for different weapons. I'm not sure how bracing would work with weapon collision, which is awesome btw. The only suggestion I'd have for collision is that since we don't have a tactile sensation of when a weapon is making contact, how about a small sound? Like a scrape or something? It feels weird to not have any warning.

not a fan of the sway after specific time because again theres just not really a good way to convey that to the player IMO (like your arms arent getting tired IRL and if you just make it a small bar like in tarkov i feel thats easily overlooked, or at least i feel like it is). sway based on things like stamina or injuries is good though, because you are getting the critical feedback you need to know that is what you will experience (i.e. you spent your stamina, you got shot, etc.).

weapon bracing and bipods is planned, and itll likely be a system similar to rising storm 2 and arma 3 where you just need to be in the vicinity of something thatll support it, and then the UI will change at the bottom left to indicate that you are in fact mounted/rested.

That's great about bracing, Tripwire's system is good. They also had the best MG/bipod implementation too, where if when you got to the end of the rotation, your character would slightly pick up the weapon, rotate, then deploy it again. We all hate how in most games you have to fully undeploy, basically stand up then do it again. If you don't get killed in the meantime that is.

ya bipodding im not entirely sure how itll be but we have discussed that specific thing recently

#

where you can move the bipod without undoing it

Perfect

Would some weapons be limited to being only deployed and hipfired? Heavy MGs, large sniper rifles? That would both eliminate some of the tired arms issue while igniting the "Heavy mgs were shoulder fired IRL!!!" argument..... 😆

they already are

#

well not all the sniper rifles, but the MGs yes

Huh, most not have noticed. I don't mg while running around alone I guess

#

Cool

they all must be ADSed in order to use

#

you can move them into point fire aiming and itll be like a hip fire, but you are forced into walk

Ah, right.

Good compromise

ya it works alright. once we have bipodding it should reduce the overall recoil/increase control a bit, but otherwise the current system (while you can still move while in ADS) is meant to be "bipodded", which i guess is how project reality did it? we just did it that way in the interim becuase it worked at a basic level
