they are making vehicles right now but i dont know if they are gonna add a bigger map. it would take more space so it would not be a great idea in my opinion. download an mod for a bigger map.

They're making 4x4km maps, all the maps in development right now (the early access maps) are that size.
The full sized version of Khafji is also much larger, I think also 4x4km (there are airfields), it's just set to a much smaller area to fit the current infantry-only gameplay until they add vehicles.
Vehicles will already be one of the sooner things to be added to the game, they have a lot of the functionality done for wheeled vehicles which will be added first, but have to take care of networking afaik
