#Rephrase DLC Titles on Steam Store for clarity

Hello!

This is my first post, so I just wanted to begin to say that I am really excited for this project. I haven't had enough time to dig in yet. But I was just doing my morning browsing on the internet YouTube while my coffee was brewing, when I noticed a reviewer mention something about the DLC on the Steam Store.

Apparently the Steam Store Titles (meaning the little blue bars that you click on) display the Early access to Operation: Rolling Stone, Overlord and Michael, as "Early Access to Operation:xxx" and then follow with the cost.

This is misleading and gives the wrong impression. The description clearly indicates that it is when you donate you gain access. The problem is that you only learn that when you actually read the description. Anyone that is visiting the steam store will only see that, and will get the impression that you have paid for DLC. Which in itself isn't the worst thing, however it creates an impression that runs contrary to what the game product actually is and honestly it isn't accurate.

Now I am not familiar with what sort of policy or legal limitations you might be under with steam or anyone else, but if it is at all possible, I would edit the titles. Perhaps something along the lines of "Donate to EarlyAccess Operation: Overlord" or something along those lines.

Thank you for your time, and I am looking forward to seeing where this project goes, and even have a couple ideas about contributing myself.

I absolutely agree.

While I agree with those who say that there is no need to appease those who already have their mind set against the game, appearances are very important in terms of trying to get a message across to those unfamiliar with the game that gives a solid representation of what the game is.

After all, people don't read as we all know (😅 ), and for someone only taking a glance to browse, something like that could completely turn away someone who could've potentially really loved the game or even have gotten involved in the community (contributing to mods, servers, clans, etc.).

Less importantly, it would make it clear and obvious to those trying to find ammunition against the game (not referring to people with normal criticisms, but those who legitimately just want to be aggressively negative to say the least), and nobody could feign ignorance and say they couldn't/wouldn't read the description.

"You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make it drink", but you sure can make the way to water painfully clear and obvious, and I'd think this would save some effort and confusion on both ends in the long run.

I also have similar views in terms of making the alpha status of the game clear (even though ideally the information already there should be enough for people to understand, we don't live in an ideal world)

Typed too much when it could be summed up in this...

I couldn't agree with you more.

I just want people to be clear about what this is about.

Hopefully things can become clear in one way or another as time goes

Well we need to be careful however and be extra careful to set the right expectations and impressions from the start.

The reality of any sales (which this is even though its free) is that you need to earn a persons time and attention. Respect that and the game does well. Most people will only give you 2-3 seconds and no more that 3 clicks of their mouse. Within that time the product needs to earn everything else.
