we're not really allowed to talk about scad - it's a program that leaked with the Gigaleak

#

you can still open CGXes with Tile Molester or any modern tile editor

ocean folio
#

Ah I see. I don't even know what scad is lmao. Ty

SCAD (or SrCAD) was the official tool that Nintendo used to make graphics in-house

#

It was an internal tool

ocean folio
#

Alright thx

thorny reef
#

Humm now that I think about it, I think someone was working on a SCAD clone at some point, gimme a sec

ocean folio
#

But uhhh

#

Don't look right

thorny reef
#

use 4bpp planar composite

#

if there's any COL files there, they should work as palettes

ocean folio
#

Where is 4bpp?

ocean folio
#

Ah found it

#

It also seems the original .cgx i uploaded uses 2bpp (The default)

thorny reef
#

and some other garbage - could be non-gfx data, code, could be compressed graphics. Can't say.

#

What game is this anyway?

ocean folio
#

Pokemon crystal uhm. Prefer not to say on vgr

#

All you need to know is that it's from poke crystal

thorny reef
#

Pokemon Crystal is a game boy game though, and those are 4bpp graphics only possible on SNES, though?

Oh, I see

#

yeah ok i dunno if we can really continue discussing this

ocean folio
#

Yeah I would prefer not to get banned. Just talking about cgx nothing more

#

The files are dated 2000 btw

thorny reef
#

CGX generally is fine because you can run into it in other games too, but yeah in this specific case I suppose it's best we leave it at this

ocean folio
#

Yeah ty
