How am I only just now seeing this. These look clean, but are these even rendered in MUGEN, or are they just mockups?

Why use MUGEN btw, use Ikemen Go. It's open source and actively worked on, instead of being a 20 year old engine which isn't going to support any of the things seen in your mockups. lol
I THINK? Ikemen Go supports marvel-style active tagging? and a whole bunch of other stuff, with eventual netplay implementation
oh, yeah. you're using Arcsys HD characters. Yeah IkemenGO supports that too without you having to patch a MUGEN install. lol

Like what's the point of you're not going to make actual theming. You might want to look into IKEMEN as an engine btw as that's the new open source hotness
Oh but like why not though? You've got the hardest part out of the way
now you have to figure out how to script the assets. or use something like Fighterfactory idk

Like these concepts are cool and all, but odds are you're sitting on a bunch of asset files that you can just flip into FFStudio. And you might as well!
IKEMENGo might have support for the glow-type transparencies you've got there, but judging by how ancient MUGEN is, you might be strugglin with them in there (also, your assets look to be HD, and it'd be a shame to see them eaten by forced 480p limitations)
Also yeah. IKEMEN Go has actual implementation for netplay and active tag systems (both things i see in your concepts here)
swapping out character images is as easy as implementing it in the *.SSF. But you might have a bear of a time trying to implement the glow and tapering off of the out-of-bounds images
ALSO: This is the wrong logo and it's got me nearly peeing myself laughing seeing every Youtuber now use it.
