flat colored and shaded are the third and fourth step after sketching and inking, so it's literally as specific as those

I figured sketch was “rough” and inked was more “final”. I suppose inked isn’t really necessary here either then as it’s four phases of an individual piece that could all just fit under WIP.

Yes, but WIP still covers all of the phases of a piece. An inked drawing not labeled WIP can safely be assumed to be finished. I don’t think having every sub-category of “in progress” for every media type is going to be particularly useful.

Gallery and feedback are good calls. I can see series-specific tags being useful for those interesting in seeing everything available under a particular brand but I'm not 100% sold on those either so we'll see how they're used.

I say add franchise tags if they're common around here, if it's just a one time thing from some obscure game made in the 90s that nobody has heard about, then it doesn't really need a tag

Do you see how in the homepage of these threads where it shows everyone's thread? If someone includes an image in the first post, a thumbnail appears in the homepage.

Is it possible to edit this first post and if so, if we change the image in it will the thumbnail change?

Quick question: Is it possible to change the order of tags? The "Other" tag doesn't look like it's referring to franchises that don't have a specific tag.

Also, I have another suggestion for a tag: Kirby

I'm not sure how well these franchise-specific tags are going to work in the end but both of those are done.

Granted, Other was not meant to be a non-specific franchise. It was supposed to be a type of thread that wasn't covered by the other main, generic descriptions so I think I'm going to move that back in hindsight.

Are we able to edit what tags we are using for our own threads? Like, if I make a thread, and I decide that a tag I'm using doesn't belong, or if I decide that I need to add a new tag due to posting an artwork relating to a franchise or category I didn't think I'd post here, would I be able to fix that?

Just a question for you, Petie. Might I suggest a pinned thread for tutorials and helpful resources for artists and for other kinds of content creators (who engage in other creative endevors such as game design, film/animation, music, and sound effects)?

Also, Petie, is it okay to ping you when I have suggestions like this for the server so long as I don't do it incessantly? Given we don't have a suggestions channel for the server as a whole anymore?

You can only pin one thread in a channel unfortunately. And I'd vastly prefer only being pinged if absolutely necessary.

Quick update to this channel! We have renamed it to better reflect that it's not just for traditional art and have clarified the rules here that you are allowed to link to your own creations (e.g. YouTube videos or songs you've published). Self-promotion rules still apply so you can't just drop a link to your YouTube channel outright or announce that you're live on Twitch but you can absolutely share your own creations, regardless of medium.
