Inappropriate character names

One of the rules has been adjusted to say that characters with inappropriate names will be suspended. To have this resolved, you’ll need to open a ticket and talk to an admin.

Server events

The staff have been cooking up various events for the server. We can’t give full details on everything nor a date on when you can expect to see most of them, but we can tell you that you can expect to see at least one event during the summer.

A new quest pack

Maxinya, I hear that you're planning some sort of musou training pack. What can you tell us about this?

Maxinya: Yes! I'm currently working on a Musou Training Quest Pack specifically designed to help newer players learn and practice Musou monsters in a more accessible way. This is part of our ongoing efforts to support the community and make progression less intimidating. Each quest in the pack will feature:

• 50-minute time limits
• 99 carts allowed, so players can focus on learning without pressure
• Sequential spawns, letting you fight one monster at a time
  I've also stocked the supply box with everything you might need for the challenge Including items like Starving Wolf Potions, Power Crystals, Max Potions, Power Coatings, Pierce Ammo, and more. I hope this makes your training experience smoother and more enjoyable.

That said, there are some technical limitations we’re facing right now. For example, using Durem for these quests isn’t currently possible due to the number of bugs it can cause. I’m actively looking into ways to make it work, but I can’t promise it will be feasible just yet. [I] also would like to point [out] that this is for the popular musou quests only (like narga, zino, elze, etc.).

Overdrive and Exorcism times

We have noticed that players aren’t pleased with how the Overdrive and Exorcism bounties limit what weapons can be used under the 5 minute time limit.

Will we ever see adjustments or changes to the Overdrive and/or Exorcism bounties to allow for other weapons to also complete the bounty?
Maxinya: [At the moment, it] is not possible due to the limitations that Discord [has] for categories, fixing something like that will require us to have multiple instances for this bounty and there's a limited amount of categories the bot can handle at the time, plus discord cap of 25 entries/slots.

We could eventually add multiplayer rewards, but [it] will mean guild gals will need to [do] their job accordingly and check that the submission is correct and align with the weapon used. At the moment I would say a lot of the most common weapons could get that title and they are challenges. I don't really think [it] is bad for the user to pick up another weapon and give it a try [and] treat them as an arena challenge.

The Ravi bot

If you’ve participated in the past ravi raid or two, you may have noticed that we no longer use the old submission method. Now we have a new bot, made by Artemis, that handles submissions. I have asked Artemis what he can tell us about the new bot.

What can you tell us about the new Ravi bot? What kind of improvements or functionality does it have over Rust?
Artemis: Overall, bounty handling and submissions worked well, and there wasn’t much that needed changing. However, the original system sent all bounties to the Guild gals, so we had to make sure Raviente’s bounties went to the right team for review and approval. Furthermore, reviewing each submission one by one in a short window would've also [caused] slowdowns when too many would've been approved at once.
To fix this, I created a bot that sends submissions to the Ravi Leads and handles them in batches instead of one by one, which keeps things running smoothly. I also made it easier for new players to submit their first bounty by removing unnecessary steps that could confuse them, so they’re less likely to make mistakes and more likely to get rewarded.

This is just the beginning for the Ravi bot, and I look forward to adding more features for it to help players, whether they’re new or experienced. That is why, I hope I can speak for the entire staff team when I say we are always looking to hear feedback from our community.

Visual and music changes

As announced in #📑┃server-changelogs message, the visuals and music in Great Slaying lands were changed to have a summer theme for the next 2 weeks. This has been temporarily disabled until further notice due to some bugs, but once it's back, feel free to take the chance to take some unique screenshots of yourself and other players.

Community Spotlight

A new section of Tavern Talk that’s starting with this issue is the Community Spotlight. This will give you all a chance to drop one question related to the game and/or server, and one ingame screenshot or GIF.

Starting from Issue #3, we’ll be answering some of the questions you ask. We ask that you keep these questions short and focused as this section isn’t for heavy feedback or debate; we have a dedicated channel for that. We also won’t be able to answer every question.

For the screenshots and GIFs, we also feature 1-2 of them starting from Issue #3. Those that submit the chosen screenshots/GIFs will receive rewards such as DPG. In the future, we may explore themed prizes such as a camera-inspired weapon or a Discord role. At the end of the year, we may compile submissions into a community video to highlight your best moments!

Overdrive in particular needs to have increased time, I’ve dealt with 11 days of brutality going for it and I’d like to have 6 mins or 530 to at least get it. I use ms and this feels borderline impossible, also the ones getting low times are reliant on Perfect Sigils so do with that what you will. But make it so the average joe can unlock it (somone whose solooed Musou Durem and Elze)

Quest is not for the avg joe tho, and if you re struggling on ms you re most likely playing like a regular slay and not a speedrun, which is what you should attempt, i recommend you check the hof on the zino quest and copy what the runners do. You will find it significantly easier.

I punish it harder than the speed runs I just don’t have a perf sigil you need the stars to align to beat this. and when I say average joe I’m saying if you’ve soloed Durem and Elze you should be able to get this as easy as Narga not have to pray to Jesus that you get a good run. I hit second objective every attempt too so 🤷🏻 not meaning to complain but this is ridiculous lol

If u still need help I can maybe help and stream it for you on how to do it. That way you can have some idea on how to punish some attacks and get the clear.

I appreciate it man but it just keeps coming down to him doing chip damage with thunder or some other bs move that takes my buffs that’s why the extra time would be great for mistakes that aren’t even made by you but by the spaghetti code that never got play tested getting to the point of frustration

I get your frustration it’s not easy. It took me at least 2 weeks to get my first clear. Once you’ve done enough runs tho i can guarantee you getting the time would be really easy. Streaming your gameplay to me would give me an idea on how you play too so i can give you some tips

As someone who hates doing overdrive I still don’t think you need the stars to align, there is something you must be missing because even me- a non ms main did it first try in a couple days and can do it regularly now.

I uploaded my first overdrive and I have a death in mine even, maybe that can help you? For me watching imperfect runs and understanding what can go wrong and still clear helps me a lot
