I haven't forgotten about this topic, I just don't have any interesting ideas yet on how I'll do something
👀
I haven't posted or written anything here for a long time, but recently I watched Castlevania: Nocturne TV2 (I wouldn't say it's the peak of fiction, but it's pretty good, there are some cool moments and there are quite a few that I didn't like or found annoying) and I got inspired, so I want to reactivate this topic a little, post some stuff here and maybe invite more people here
Earlier (back in September 2024) I had an idea with Winston during the French Revolution, and around that time I had made a couple of minis on this topic, but then, due to laziness and lack of motivation, I did not finish them and did not take screenshots, but now I did.
I think that for Winston, participating in the revolution on the side of the rebels (he mainly helped with supplies, delivery and sale of weapons to them, although he personally managed to fight) was a debut on, so to speak, the world vampire arena, before that he was basically an unknown loner, with some fame in Ireland and England, but nothing more.
Later, 10 years later, he also worked with Napoleon, albeit not directly. Some of the emperor's decisions seemed unreasonable to the vampire, but at the same time, he learned from him some ideas and approaches that he uses to this day.
Here Winston confronts (or rather just morally intimidates) some royalist soldier during one of the night battles
This is the same guy, but after the revolution, during which he acquired a number of useful connections, and later participated in supplying Napoleon's army. As you can see, here he is dressed like a rich bourgeois, and not a simple soldier
I also thought of making Marquis Noel a little younger, about like Winston (that is, at the time of 2018, in which the events of the topic take place, he is about 300, maybe 340 years old, but not 450-500 as I assumed earlier) and during the great French revolution he advocated for the royalists, believed that it was necessary to reform the royal system and not destroy it entirely and build a new one from scratch
In that case, out of all the Council members, he knows a little more about Winston, like he was the first to see him (probably even fight him), possibly shortly before Winston awakened his blood magic
In general, considering that the Council (or rather the Inner Council) consists mainly of aristocratic vampires from old Europe, who have a rather conservative approach in many ways, the French Revolution could have been a super-large battlefield for the vampire community, something on the level of the Second World War, if it had been compressed to one or two fronts.
The king and the monarchy were indirectly supported by influential vampire clans in Europe, while the revolutionaries were supported by many individual vampires or small clans, as well as some vampires from overseas, or simply clans wishing to confuse the cards of those who were dominant in Europe at that time.
I think a considerable number of powerful vampires were killed then, plus, probably, 1-2 relatively large clans were destroyed with them, which are now only remembered
Speaking of loners, they are still rather poorly represented, so I would like to suggest to everyone who reads this to correct this situation.
In addition to the old powerful vampires from the Council and their clans, who have a lot of resources and territory, there are many loner vampires in the world, converted semi-spontaneously, and looking for their place in the world. Or not quite loners, but small groups.
Their capabilities by the standards of the Council clans are absolutely insignificant (no army, equipment, connections in different parts of the world, no special equipment like sun-protective combat suits for troops, and all that), but they still exist, and the more active and promising of them can be participants in the Outer Council.
The same Winston was a loner, he was just smart, he was lucky with the territory and he had enough time and opportunities to study the world and understand the balance of power between the clans at that time, in order to gain strength, accumulate resources, become stronger and at the same time not get into confrontations with those who are too tough for him.
just luciano chilling around
Adrien Belmond, an executioner sent by the Council, operated primarily during the Wild West era but has been repeatedly recruited due to his exceptional talent. He is capable of solidifying his blood to use as projectiles and is notably responsible for the Sarajevo assassination and Kennedy's assassination. He is a ruthless killer. Currently, he is believed to be somewhere near Thailand.
Why not?
At first I wanted to argue that the Belmont family (from Castlevania) is not here, but then I read on and damn, that's a funny reference and I like the idea of this guy.
He seems pretty independent and has a mind of his own, so I think he might have had some interactions with Winston, maybe taking a bit of odd jobs from him before the world war, in the 1970s - 2000s
(i didn't warch Castlevania)
A thing I made yesterday, two random single vampires, or rather members of some small vampire gang, somewhere on the outskirts of Europe or in America
Aah i see
The life of vampires in large clans (the level of those who lead the Council of Vampires of Europe) resembles the life of a member of a mafia group, with a mixture of an occupation government and a medieval feudal lord. You hold territory and various objects on it, protect this territory from threats, ensure that the population on your territory regularly donates blood and works, counteract guerrilla activity, suppress/control the black market on your territory, divide up the order (people, although your food, but this is renewable food, it is stupid and unreasonable and dangerous to lose part of this food or workers because someone is starving and dying or one person killed another because of some bullshit).
These guys have their own kind of army (several dozen or hundreds of vampires, armed and equipped like soldiers, having transport with sun glasses and all that) and they are very territorial.
At the same time, the life of a vampire from a small gang is more like... well, the life of a simple bandit from a gang, a group of about a dozen marginal individuals living in some lair (a basement, an abandoned house, a cottage outside the city) and squabbling over crumbs from the Council table with the same scum.
Some try to harm the Council and bite off a pinch of their pie, hiding and running away faster than they are found, knocked out their fangs and made a sunny barbecue out of them, some grovel before large clans hoping to join them (there are cases when this is successful, and there are cases when it is not), and some simply loot and feed on disputed territory, or even sneak into cities under human control, trying to hide and drink local citizens without being caught by the army.
The life of a lone vampire is similar to the life of a lone maniac, a largely lonely, meaningless existence, hunting people, hiding from large clans and even small gangs, although not always.
Although some lone vampires succeed and become stronger over time, take influence, connections, resources into their own hands, becoming, albeit small, players on the world stage.
There are many of these in the Outer Council
the outer council???
The Council of Vampires of Europe as of 2018 (after the start of the war with people) has, so to speak, a two-tier structure, imagine it as... a large dot surrounded by a circle, probably. Or a cluster of large dots in the center and around them a circle of about a hundred dots several times smaller.
The foundation, the basis, and what everything started from, is the Council of Higher Vampires of Europe (you can call it a small council, or an inner council, the second name I think is more fair), old powerful guys with powerful clans and huge control over their domains (since we are talking about aristocrats, then domains are often the lands that they ruled back when they were people).
And the superstructure on top of this base is the Outer Council (it can also be called a large council, but the outer one is better suited), it includes not only aristocrats with cool clans, and not only from Europe. The vampires in it are usually younger and much weaker than those in the Inner Council, both in terms of personal abilities and in terms of power, resources. But unlike the Inner Council, they are often more resourceful, less territorial, and simply connected to various industries that are useful to the council.
The dudes from the Inner Council don't want to admit it, but without the Outer, they would just be a bunch of very strong vampires, very cool in defending their domains, but with little mobility outside of them, and controlling mainly only Europe, while thanks to the allies from the Outer Council, they can conduct military operations all over the globe, and have a much better economy and supplies.
At the same time, the Outer Council without the Inner is just a bunch of fanged merchants, cult leaders, mercenaries, and various cunning bastards who have influence in the human world. But without impressive power and with an insane amount of internecine squabbles
Lone vamp necromancer?
no, the second vampire is a leader of a small group in southern India, he is capable of directly sucking the blood of humans who are located a maximum of one meter from him, leaving a completely empty carcass
Hemokinesis? Interesting
Also a loner?
Hm not sure, maybe
👀
👀
I would suggest you to think a little about the backstory of Luciano and his faction, I remember I did a mini of one guy from there (Sir Oliver), but an influential vampire clan can have from 50 to a hundred or one hundred and fifty vampires, imagine it as a mafia family or a cartel, but existing not for 20-30 years but for several centuries, and quite stably holding the same region under its power
ok i'll try
Wow, who is he?
Born in 962 into Saxon aristocracy, Ludwig von Schwarzenkreuz developed a fascination for court intrigue from an early age. Unlike other nobles who sought glory on the battlefield, he mastered the arts of scheming and poison. His expertise in toxicology and manipulation made him a feared advisor and a key player in the power struggles of the Holy Roman Empire. However, his growing influence drew the attention of Emperor Otto I. Accused of conspiracy and heretical practices, Ludwig was captured and judged. As punishment, the emperor tore out his right eye before imprisoning him in a dungeon, condemning him to a slow death. But in the cell, he met a vampire, became one.
Ludwig can control spider at will and see through their eyes, allowing him to spy on his surroundings unnoticed.
Nice
Damn, considering the date, he's much older than even Dracula and in theory should be even much stronger, considering that often, the older the vampire, the stronger (although not always and there are other additional factors)
Oh sht i can change it if you want
in my opinion this makes it intresting like what if dracula knows of him or maybe even dosent what if it ludwig knows about dracula but not dracula to him?
Basically, it's not necessary, like, we don't know how much Ludwig fought, if not that much then it's a completely realistic scenario. The guy whose name is unknown and who is the progenitor for most of the vampires on the Council, is obviously older than all of them, but he's more of a trickster and a life-loving observer than a fighter. That is, he can still tear apart a normal person with one hand without visible effort without moving from the spot, or regrow the lost half of his head in a few seconds, but this is a dubious feat for a guy his age, and he probably has little or no offensive power, only defensive/mobile, which is convenient for traveling but makes him no fighter. Which is quite consistent with his nature.
So if Ludwig hasn't fought much as a vampire and has no special ambitions, he may well be much older than many vampires on the Council but at the same time not be stronger than them, or not much stronger than most of them
Question, should I make a separate discord server for this thing?
Even though this thread is almost dead, I'll still post this here: Approximate appearance of the fighters from Winston's faction.
Yes, unlike the guys from the Inner Circle of the Council of Vampires of Europe, Winston does not have large openly controlled territories (like medieval feudal lords or just seemingly occupied territories under the rule of an occupation government), but he still has a lot of money and connections, some of these connections are like roots in human society and remain working even in the conditions of a war between two species.
The important thing is that he still has a certain group of vampires acting directly under his command, or doing things for him, and their form and appearance are approximately like this
maybe
but we have to copy evezrything
For me, honestly, this is not a big problem, + it is an opportunity to go over the lore and standardize it a little better and make it more integral.
The only question is about people, their numbers and their interest in this thing
I'm joining this (I saw you posted something about this in the Darklands chat, sorry I didn't respond right away)
Good!
I've read some of the lore in this universe, it looks interesting, I'm considering making my own character or faction for this universe. Also I know this universe has its own Winston, is he the same as in the Darklands?
Well, he's similar in terms of personality, but otherwise he's different here, like, there he's a mage (biomancer?), here he's a vampire
@sonic island By the way, what would you call this guy? Like, he's your character.
Since he's the head of the Muruma clan, I think that's also his last name, but the first name is questionable
@valid hill I had an idea for a faction for this universe, I would like to tell you what you think of it before I decide to make it. The faction is known as the sovereign order of Hastae Lucis (or the divine light in Latin). The faction was originally created by the Pope in the early 20th century for the sole purpose of hunting vampires. You can think of them as the Vatican's equivalent to America's Seal Team 6, and they have fought in almost every war and conflict in the shadows since the first world war. While they mostly hunt vampires, they are known to hunt other cryptids, or demons. Also they have installations all over the world, most of which are disguised as ordinary places, one such place is a diner in the middle of rural America, which secretly houses over 500 of these elite soldiers.
Except for a couple of details (like the fact that in this world there are no, or at least it is not reliably known about the existence of supernatural creatures other than vampires) I really like the idea, plus, it explains how humanity as a whole was able to withstand the first attack of vampires, at least was able to withstand and repel some of these attacks
I discussed the setting itself a little with a friend of mine, including your idea, and to be honest it fits very well into the overall picture of the world and complements some aspects of the lore well, which seemed to work on their own, but with this idea they seemed to come together into a single working mechanism
Now I made a complete timeline, according to it Hastae Lucis was originally founded in 1215, when the Vatican was still the Papal States.
But in 1725 the order was largely limited, like, vampires had hardly appeared for the last 50 years (this does not mean that they disappeared, they just started doing their business more secretly) and Pope Benedict XIII, including fearing intrigues and possible displacement/rebellion, by his decree very much limited the budget, number and assets of the order.
And by 2015 there were rumors about the resumption of vampire activity and the then Pope returned a small part of the former things to the order and slightly increased the budget and number, then when checking old mothballed shelters and bases (mainly under different monasteries in different cities of Europe) it turned out that over these almost 300 years, almost all of these places, without normal security, were discovered and robbed/sabotaged.
The world war between humans and vampires began in 2018, at the same time (a month or two after it began) the order was officially returned a bunch of old things, the staff was increased and a lot of money was invested in it for equipment, training of fighters and all that.
The server is still in the process of being made and these things are cut from the general timeline, I think it might be more convenient for you to come up with something in advance
i might also take a crack at this if thats ok
GG @somber grotto, you just advanced to level 11!
Thats awesome, I didn't think it would fit into the story so well with the overall story
Please, I'll be glad 🫡
Before your idea, to be honest, the human side was in a huge minority, like, quantitatively there are more of them, but it is unlikely that a simple human army with guns could effectively withstand the vampires' urban blitzkrieg on strategic objects, with these guys (in some places, mainly in Rome and countries close to Italy with a strong influence of the Catholic Church) it is quite possible.
Plus, their existence also additionally explains why vampires for many centuries acted and even fought with each other secretly, at that time they were either worse organized or simply weaker, and Hastae Lucis had more magical knowledge and equipment than in our days, so the situation could partly resemble the first seasons of Castlevania
interesting
I have two alternate designs for soldiers who are part of the Sovereign Order of Hastae Lucis, they usually wear black uniforms to blend in with the darkness as most of their operations take place during the night, on top of this specific loadouts or uniforms may change depending on the environment, and usually, no two soldiers have the same gear even if they are wearing identical uniforms underneath it. These soldiers are trained to have some skills in magical fighting, however its very limited due to the fact that the force is solely made up of humans. They are also trained in every type of environment whether it be urban, jungle, desert, tundra, or woodlands. Also the order does have a small air force, who's role is mostly logistical and involves limited close air support with drones and helicopters, as well as logistical aircraft capable of dropping airborne units. Finally these soldiers are trained to master several different forms of martial arts, including Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, King Fu, Muay Thai, and a specific martial art that is nearly identical to Delta Force/SAS combative training. I'm thinking when it comes to requirements, there are only two. Be a devoted Christian (of any denomination, whether it be Catholic, Orthodox, or Lutheran), and have either military experience, or notable experience with fighting vampires, the selection process used to be more secretive prior to the outbreak of the global war in 2018, however since then they've been more open and many people in the world know about their existence in some way, shape, or form. Typically, those who join the order are either selected from active special forces units, or through special forces veterans, intelligence agencies, members of the church, or through missionaries seeking to find people willing to fight for them, however, technically one could go to the Vatican and ask to join (though for the most part its the order who comes to you).
Selection school is very similar to Navy Seal selection, however with additional elements such as training in magic, martial arts, religious studies, and learning how to operate in different terrains, as well as conducting airborne, and seaborne operations. These elite fighters don't call themselves soldiers, but rather paladins, serving as gods warriors and defending his divine will. Despite the training school being extremely difficult to pass, the order has between 2000-3000 active members (with a limited reserve force). The force is purely made up of fighters, and its usually up to the nation that's hosting a contingent to provide logistical services. While this number isn't much, these guys have defended the world for hundreds of years, keeping the vampires at bay, and for most of their history their numbers have been just a couple of hundred. They are only so "large" now because of the war.
The amateur medieval vampire hunter. some well off lad who wishes to join the hunt for the creatures of the night, each one thinks they have a new trick or strategy that nobody has ever thought about before, but there are no new strategies, just ones that work and ones that dont, and you never hear about the ones that dont work.
@valid hill
oh is this meant to be more modern?
He looks so damn cool, and the look of this guy reminded me of Clive Barker's Jericho.
But I want to make a small remark on magic:
In the old days (before the Middle Ages or in the early Middle Ages), according to rumors and scant evidence, people could use magic directly, like make their sword catch fire or speed up the healing of wounds by laying hands on a wounded comrade. By the late Middle Ages/Renaissance, there were almost no examples or evidence of such.
So, I think that rare members of the order can still do this, but there is very little clear evidence of this, like, imagine that you have to make something, but you don't have a blueprint, you just have a drawn picture of this thing ... placed in the background of an old photo. You can still see what is there and try to recreate this thing, but it will not be an exact copy, but rather a work based on the motives.
But they probably still have some developments on magical weapons, and how to make (or rather, I think, grow) crystals that are batteries and the main element of such weapons.
Imagine a weapon from Bloodborne, but a little less crudely made, a little less mechanical and more magical
Yes, at least the main timeline ("current" events) is 2018-2020. Although a lot of things happened in the Middle Ages too
Thanks, also as far as magic goes perhaps the training in magic could be just magical awareness, for example, teaching members of the order about certain types of magic vampires may use and how to counter it with conventional means. Also with the crystal thing, which basically sounds like Hextech from arcane, which would be interesting (especially seeing modern soldiers wield such weapons). I don't really know how effective normal bullets are against vampires in this universe, but I'm thinking hex weapons could be more effective. Though, I think even these weapons would be more uncommon than the traditional weapons (mostly M4 carbines, and the German HK G36). I feel like only the best and most experienced members of the order can even be considered to get their hands on magical weapons. Also, I have a question, how do people become vampires in this universe? Are people born as vampires, or can someone be turned into a vampire, and if so how? Also how do vampire military factions act? I know some characters such as Winston have their own factions which seem to use conventional weapons, similarly to a modern military. Are they professional armies, or do they operate more like a PMC?
I will answer in the order of asking the questions:
-
Regular bullets CAN damage vampires, like vampires are not bulletproof, but their strength increases over the years, perhaps this is some secondary effect of the appearance of blood magic. Accordingly, with greater strength of the body, it is less vulnerable to physical damage, and for example, an old vampire may well remain completely unharmed after a magazine of 9mm bullets in the chest.
Silver, on contact, burns the vampire (vampires quickly develop increased tolerance to pain from other sources), leaves as if burnt wounds that are much worse to heal, and in general, contact with silver weakens the vampire.
So a regular M4, with a magazine of regular bullets, from which a thin layer of metal was simply ground off and replaced with a silver coating, is a completely reliable method against young vampires, they are still fast and strong, but they can easily be killed by a burst from such a gun.
Although this is not so scary for higher vampires due to regeneration, to kill them you need really extensive damage. -
Vampires are sterile. They can do things like normal humans, but they can't conceive or have children, either with each other or with humans.
-
A person can become a vampire when another vampire drinks part of his blood and then gives this person his (vampire) blood to drink. The first part (with drinking part of the person's blood) is not necessary, but it either speeds up or simplifies the transformation process
And yes, vampires (especially the run-of-the-mill, poor dudes with access to high-level stuff) are quite willing to use conventional weapons because, well, they work well against humans and not bad against other vampires if they're still young
we need a recap of the factions and timeline 🗿
Aiko murama
i think we could start it now
🫡
I'm already making the server little by little, I just want to bring it to a more decent and attractive appearance before inviting people there, a certain layer of things is done, but some more things need to be done
do u need help
The Vatican army is super cool, we should create the Pope too. Besides, thinking about it, we have very few vampires coming from the African continent. I started to think about a Muslim order similar to the Christian order that would take care of the protection of this territory as well as on the Indian coasts.
I had an idea involving a storyline with the pope involving him and one of his friends from the order who was turned into a vampire during the 1950s. Before the pope was the pope, he used to be a member of the order of Hastae Lucis alongside his friend Marcus. They had already been on several combat missions together, but one went severely wrong. The pope (then known by the name of Dante Grimaldi (now known as Pope Silas I) couldn't bring the courage to kill his friend who as freshly bitten by a vampire (though not turned into one yet). He stood over him, with a silver steak in his hand and chose to leave him. Years later Pope Silas' friend would return (and I'm thinking he can be a reoccurring character throughout the story), Marcus is sort of a wildcard character being neither good nor bad, occasionally advising the pope, or just talking to his old friend. Many in the order are aware of him and are specifically told not to kill him, as he doesn't seem to attack humans (at least in the sovereign order), but he's still a vampire and has probably taken innocent lives. Many groups such as Winston's faction, and other vampire factions are aware of his existence, with most groups seeing him as a traitor to his kind. Also I like the idea of a Muslim version of the order of Hastae Lucis (I'm not really sure what the name for that would be), I'm that the the Vatican's secret army, and its Muslim counterpart (and perhaps other religions have their own versions of this), could be somewhat interconnected, with both organizations sharing intelligence, and sometimes conducting missions together.
The fact of having vampires not attacking humans is not disturbing (for example, we have the Muruma clan from Japan who protect the Asian territory despite being vampires). The idea of connecting religious groups is a very, very good idea. Especially against well-established groups like the Inner Council. But for the moment there is no threat coming from Africa and the biggest threat comes from Europe (a little also from Japan but it is manageable).
I was thinking it would be just Marcus who chooses not to attack the pope or the members of the order of Hastae Lucis (just because he was a former member, and to repay the pope for sparing him, I don't think he has to be disturbing, I thought of him as just an anti-hero character) he has attacked other humans though, because he's still a vampire, but I'd say he's more carful about which victims he chooses. He doesn't go out of his way to attack random or innocent people just because he can, he often helps humans in wartorn areas, or goes out of his way to destroy minor vampire groups terrorizing towns and villages. Marcus only attacks humans who deserve it. Also random question, but I'm curious about the situation in America because I had an idea with a storyline involving the United States.
from memory there is a vampire who controls most of the united states (his name is deuce from memory) created by viodilgo
I don't know if this could fit in then, but I think I'll share it anyways incase it may fit in, but around 2018 the United States experienced a coup under a man by the name of Zachary Devross (a US senator during the time who had spoken profoundly against the president, and had lost the previous election), after days of not standing down, the US military would eventually intervene, leading to nationwide martial law (though, this was all orchestrated, and Devross was merely a tool used by the council). Eventually groups of vampires would orchestrate a popular resistance against the military government, leading to something resembling a civil war. A faction known as the Free American Army (FAA) would form, with its leader, General Marshal Blare, being a vampire (and one of the three orchestrators of the Coup). His organization is made up of both humans and vampires, but he truly believes that the only way humans can be freed from themselves is to be converted into a vampire. Blare is known to be an extremely charismatic leader, (although assuming Deuce controls most of America, the FAA's territory isn't probably that large, most likely being the size of 2 or 3 states). The US military, already fighting on multiple fronts and suffering heavy casualties had been constantly being pushed pack by the FAA, with their main offensive being targeted to Washington D.C. also he is one of few vampire lords that don't believe in the rule of the inner council, and isn't a member himself despite his potential for being extremely valuable, also he is probably enemies with Deuce, assuming both see themselves as the legitimate rulers of America. In contrast from many vampire lords who seem to be self-interested, Blare genuinely see's his actions as good for the world, he just see's those fighting against him as being afraid of change, (his ideology is similar to Viktor's from arcane, but instead he see's vampirism as the "glorious evolution", and he also has a cult like following).
Here is one of his soldiers, they have a standardized uniform, and most wear something like this, many fighters of the FAA, are ex-US military, with many willingly turning into vampires. Similarly to General Blare, the FAA soldiers genuinely believe what they are doing is good. Their propaganda had made them believe that humans, and even other vampire groups are flawed, and self-interested.
It's nice to see new people so involved, it's incredible
I heard from a friend that the Order of Assassins (though clearly not the same as in the series of games with the same name) existed in reality, in particular they owned Alamut Castle (in Persia) and Masyaf Castle (in the Levant), I think you can base your guys on them
In terms of the relationship between the Vatican and the Muslim faction, I think a lot of Trench Crysade, where the Sultanate of the Iron Wall and New Antioch are basically allied factions fighting against legions of heretics and demons from hell.
After all, both religions have roughly the same base and both seem to be Abrahamic religions, so in the face of a common danger, it might be a little easier for them to understand each other and find compromises
that would make sense, also I'm curious about the lore of whats going on in the USA because I had an idea for a new faction, but I'm not sure if they'll fit in. How much of America does Deuce control?
Yes, Deuce, and he didn't control most of the US, just the city of Chicago, plus possibly the city's outskirts.
He's a mafioso/gangster, so I can assume that his influence on the black market and gangs of America could be much more extensive, but precisely as influence and not literal manual control
I was curious what you would think about this faction specifically, it was just a quick idea I had about a hypermilitarized vampire faction
Firstly, the guy has a really cool and impressive design, secondly, this whole idea does not contradict anything that was previously described within the framework of this setting and various ideas for it.
It is known that Deuce is an ally of the Council (possibly a formal member of the Outer Council, one of the largest and most influential guys there) and Chicago is one of their potential footholds for action in the USA (like, his vampire gangsters hold the city and from its territory the Council's combat groups can carry out raids into other cities and states), but he is a gangster, which I think is sufficient reason for Blair to at least not be allies with Deuce
Looks cool, although I thought that the uniform of these guys should probably be a little closer to the usual IRL American uniform, like camouflage similar to the cartoon, a rifle similar to the M16A4 / HK-416 / Scar-L with different attachments.
Regarding the transformation of an entire nation into vampires:
Vampires cannot reproduce (which means that a husband and wife who become vampires simply will not be able to have children) and plus the question of food will arise, like where to get enough millions of liters of blood to feed tens / hundreds of millions of vampires.
Although regular food can be consumed, it does not saturate vampires, and drinking each other's blood is probably not a working solution
I did have some of this in mind when making these guys, perhaps I can give them a uniform more similar to modern US army uniforms (such as OCP camouflage), which they may have worn during in the beginning of the global war, however as the war dragged on uniforms probably changed to better identify FAA troops. Although one alternative idea can be that FAA troops can wear the US Army's old ACU pattern (which was phased out around 2019, while the federal troops wear the newer OCP pattern), that would make much more sense than all of them wearing black uniforms, especially since the US army adopted new uniforms around the time the blood war broke out (I'll probably make a redesign sometime in the future). Also when it comes to Blare wishing to transform all of America into a nation of vampires, he probably realized the logistical challenges, such as how the population would get sustenance, however he probably has a scientific research team dedicated to finding a viable alternative to blood, also the majority of the FAAs soldiers are humans (with most of the higher military leadership being made up of officers). I think that the FAAs ideology isn't purely about converting everyone into vampires, but it does believe in a utopian society where there is no sickness, pain, or death, where everyone is interconnected (whether that interconnectedness be through the mind, body, or soul). I feel like even though General Blares army/ideology pose a grave threat to the order of Hastae Lucis (especially if it spreads to europe/asia, or the US military can no longer contain it), its not nearly as grave as a threat as the inner/outer circle is, though the order still keeps a close eye on it, as it does have devastating potential (though within the main story I doubt this faction would get any larger than it already is, or that other copycat groups would form abroad).
Also, assuming vampires aren't killed prematurely can they technically live forever?
I like the idea with camouflage, plus, I don't know when Blair became a vampire (how old he is), but in theory his troops could wear slightly older uniforms, like in 2010-2015, simply because there are a lot of them and many could get used to them.
And about turning into vampires: If you don't count young vampires (guys and girls who were just turned, and who in their thinking are closer to insanely hungry animals than to people, this state goes away in 3-4 days) then in general the mind and consciousness of a vampire is no different from a human. Like, it undergoes changes, but not from the fact of becoming a vampire, but from the forces and limitations that this imposes, plus personal beliefs and quirks of a person. A brilliant scientist does not lose his genius, although if he was a religious person, he can hate his new hypostasis, or become proud if he was initially inclined to this.
Vampires almost do not develop mentally (like, they, like people, perceive new information and remember a lot, although their memory is not absolute), but if a person was smart and capable, and he became a vampire, these qualities of his (as well as a certain basis of character in general) are preserved and do not change, just as his body does not age.
In theory, selective transformation into vampires of individual, most outstanding individuals, would allow them to preserve and develop their talents for tens and hundreds of years, if not more, which could bring great benefit to society. Although, on the other hand, this can also mean an opportunity for tyrants, dictators, unscrupulous corporate bosses to usurp power and rule for centuries, becoming only stronger with age.
This is not a ready-made option for Blair's ideology, but just thoughts and ideas to think about
Regarding the lifespan of vampires:
-
The age of a vampire freezes at the period of life when he was turned, he does not age or grow older, if he is old, he remains old and does not get younger.
-
Until now, neither the Council nor Hastae Lucis have any evidence or information about at least one vampire who died of old age, ordinary diseases or some kind of transition to another plane of reality upon reaching a certain age.
One of the oldest known (reliably known) vampires is Dracula, who is 587 years old as of 2018, but there are rumors of older ones, after all, the guy who turned him (and many other guys who later formed the Inner Council) already had blood magic at that time, which means he was turned into a vampire around 1300-1350. And he is also definitely NOT the first vampire, and at least 2-3 more generations existed before him.
So if vampires do age, it would take 800-1000+ years
@void frigate Good evening, I apologize if this is a false alarm, I wanted to say that I am making a separate server dedicated to this universe, and, of course, I would like to invite you there when everything is relatively ready 👀
👀
Here is a picture of Pope Silas and Marcus
insane
i wanted to try some members of your order but without kitbashing, it's difficult to do it
tbh, they dont necessarily have a single uniform, and they have teams from all over the world who may wear different specialized equipment, the only think they have in common is that they they usually wear black
FAA soldier redesign, I'm thinking the black uniforms could be used for special forces units while most soldiers wear something like this
also @valid hill I recall you saying the main events take place from 2018-2020 is that how long the world blood war lasts? Is there anything that takes place after 2020?
I like it!
Yes, the war started in 2018, but if the server has an RP section or something similar, I think that the "current" moment can be considered 2020, that is, as in Warhammer, the "current" time was the 40th millennium, the events of the Horus Heresy took place in the 30th millennium, the whole thing with the awakening of Guilliman is already the 41st millennium, if I'm not mistaken
This is insanely good, honestly I even insist that you repost or just upload it to other channels, because it looks really cool even apart from the setting
thanks
Here's something I just made, I thought you would like it. Here is a JSDF soldier during the blood war, I looked into the lore of Japan in this universe and was interested by the Dawn Army (which seems to have a similar role to Hastae Lucia, though they seem to be a bit more advanced, producing their own weapons). It would probably make sense for Japanese soldiers to be equipped with some of these weapons (after looking more into the Japanese soldiers, I found you mentioning how they use UV light shields, meanwhile the sword for this soldier could be either magic or an ordinary silver coated blade). I'm thinking most JSDF soldiers would be armed with normal guns, but some specialized units could be given UV shields as they are probably very expensive to make. I also had an idea for a specialized type of unit within the US army (that would have an entirely different function than these guys). I'm thinking in general with Japan being smaller than the United States, while having several threats the JSDF is much more capable of stopping vampire forces than the US, especially considering that the US military is supposed to be much larger, and much more capable than the JSDF, however with the US government not being able to secure cities under the control of Vampire Gangs (not even professional fighting forces), alongside a full-scale civil war from pro-vampire forces that seek to replace the US government, I'm thinking Japan probably sends many of its officers to advise US troops on how to fight vampires, alongside members of the Japan Dawn Army. This means that technically, since Hastae Lucis does have a strong presence in North America (with nearly 500 fighters), Japan Dawn Army advisors or kill teams who have been assigned to assist US troops could be fighting alongside Hastae Lucis soldiers.
Wow, he looks great, plus I really like how you did the body armor and the camouflage
Here is an idea for a unit design for the US army (I didn't make this design for this universe, it was made for a different new project I'm working on), these guys are equipped with UV light guns, and usually operate in the night time. These weapons would probably be very overpowered, with them literally being portable suns that can vaporize vampires, so there would probably have to be some way to balance these guys if they are implemented.
It looks cool, and about the balance, I think that it is really a very powerful but balanced thing, insanely effective in some situations and almost zero effectiveness in others.
Like, the bodies of vampires in this universe are destroyed by direct rays of sunlight, or, for example, if a ray of sunlight is reflected by a mirror at a vampire standing indoors.
If a vampire stands on a sunny day, for example, in the shade of a house or under a canopy, in the shade, he will feel uncomfortable (well, you know, instinctive discomfort, like people sometimes feel uncomfortable standing on the edge of a huge cliff even if they are not too afraid of heights) and probably his powers will be noticeably weakened, but he will not burn.
Plus, if a vampire wears something (like a sunsuit, or a full-body suit with a welding mask) that covers his body and eyes from the sun, he doesn't have a problem with the sun, he still feels discomfort (like a diver in a heavy diving suit on the bottom of the sea) but he won't burn under direct sunlight because, well, it doesn't hit his body.
I think the same goes for ultraviolet light, which irradiates but doesn't destroy, like a bullet from a gun can do.
So it's completely OP against guys without protection, but almost 0 effect against those who do have protection, higher vampires also have more convenient protection, in the form of not bulky suits but just rings, necklaces and other trinkets that give their bodies protection from the sun
.
anyone got new ideas?
...... if i did i would prob use them for my vamp world lol
im joking......kind of i would realy share them but do them first if they were good enough
This is fair 🤔
oo i got an idea! i give you an idea for your world and you give me one fo mine?
Let's try, I'm not sure it will be fully implemented (depends on the idea), but nevertheless
fair
But first, I'd like to know more about your vampire setting, so I can recommend something easier
in my vamp world vamps were originally made from a man asking the wrong demon to be the most powerful person in the world the demon was a Bragnumbu a wild nature heckish demon that took that answer as make him really powerful and impossible to kill ..... he became the progenitor! vamps are also related to werewolves because of dna stuff and witches are aslo there and intreasting
... i just realized i havent updated my vamp minis🤣
So, it's a paranormal version of vampires, interesting.
The powers that a specific vampire has, what do they depend on, some purely individual factors, or on the subspecies/clan/something else?
well obviosly blood is one tho the intreasting thing is when you kill one they also have an imunity to the sun thing tho its more it iratets their eyes but the older they are they get more used to it.
there are the 7 masters, the pure bloods, theres also born vamps like pure bloods, the children (everyday vamps in this world most common) , vamp beasts (when a vamp bites an animal) , the wild lycans are the vamps that got mutations that made them more werewolf so they the first gen of lycans the second is much more calmer , the renfeilds and finaly vamp hunters (hunters in my wold will ingect the blood of the thing they hunt into themselves as a power upgrade )
the 7 masters are the masters over the 7 types of magic ( i never actualy had specific 7 magics made)
i dont realy think theres specific clans besides vamps and werefolk
And this is interesting, like, it’s not often that I see universes where you can be born a vampire and not just become one as a result of a bite
well its def harder to cause its ether be bitten at birth (like then and there so you tech born one) or before your born your mother was biiten ex dracula and his brother abraham are powerfull born vampires (yes van helsing and dracula are brothers)
ohh the reason why they are hard to kill is cause when you kill them (cuting their head of plus stake to heart) they will come back from heck cause the bagumbu made a deal with the devil/ hades (morrtek hes known as and is a big demon ) to let anything related to the progenitor come back from heck and the consiquence is the bagumbu is hunted by a demon hunter
question dose your world have renfields? (renfeilds in my world are a refrence to renfield the servant of dracula the renfeild are multiple servents )
any exemples?
this is an example of what the reinfields look like in me world (still need to update cause bc and all that)
.

bump
yeah...
bump 👀 ?

I want to do something, but I haven't gotten around to it yet
