getting damage player dealt

can I get the damage the player inflicted with a hit? I'm detecting hits with an advancement

Not after the advancement no.

You can detect the damage taken/dealt in the advancement however

how? from what i've read I can only detect if I dealt an exact amount of damage, not get it

Iirc, there's a scoreboard objective for this

Don't remember what it is, though you can probably find it by using autocomplete when using the scoreboard objectives add command when specifying a criteria

It's like damage_dealt or something I think

However, remember that it counts up by 10 for each point of damage so it can record decimals
