I have two for now, but I'm only doing like the art, ideas, story and some building.
Are custom dimensions possible in an average survival gameplay, including custom blocks?
Can custom blocks be used in stuff like caves and quartz in the new dimension and be like ores? I have a plan to just use full-on blocks in the new dimension instead of actual ore blocks.
Can a custom mob transform into another custom mob like how the ocelots used to transform into cats when tamed?
I'll try and come up with some more questions while modeling and building in Creative Mode. Also, please feel free to go into DMs if You want to help code for the datapack addition for My Optifine resource pack.
#A few questions about datapacking...

I'm not sure I understand the first question 🤔
Second question, data packs cannot add real custom blocks. The main ways to fake them are to overwrite unused block states, which has limited applications, or using entities, which is impossible in large scales in worldgen, and impractical at large scales generally
Third question, data packs can't add real custom mobs. Of all the ways to fake custom mobs, any of them can transform into something else because it's just down to how you choose to implement it
Okay great, I see now.
I've seen a VIDeo about adding custom blocks, and I've also seen a LOT of different custom blocks being added and used in this one datapack.
If they were added via data pack then they were faked
There's nothing wrong with it, it's just the limitations of the tools at our disposal
Yeah, that's what I got out of watching it.
Ah I see, thought you were saying I was wrong
No, I wasn't.
Anything else?
Not for now, if I do need to close, then I can and make another thread later.
That would be ideal, yeah
