#Texture issues with custom bed model for 1.21.4

Good day! For the last two weeks I have been trying to replace the default Minecraft bed with my own custom model. Due to the way the bed model handling has changed with the 1.21.4 update, what should have been a straightforward process has now become...a task.

The Issue

Minecraft is not rendering my bed texture. It's 128 x 128. Attached is an image of my current progress vs what I am aiming for.

My Thoughts

From what I can see, it looks like everything is fine. All the JSON files are referencing properly, and my files don't seem to be corrupted. I genuinely have no idea why I am consistently having this issue. I am now at the point where I need someone else to look at this. I have been staring at this nonsense for too long, and my eyes are starting to cross, which as you can imagine, isn't helping.

What I Can Provide

If necessary I can produce (because yes, I did need to get this deep to even get these beds in here):

  • images
  • json file content
  • project workflow (directory information)
  • document outlining the steps taken (with all the above information) as I have found Gemini and Copilot quite helpful for understanding the model changes in this update, and typed the document to be as specific with my questions as possible to subvert any incorrect or repetitive information.
