Yes, in your datapack you have a minecraft folder, in there add a recipe like normal and name the recipe the name of the vanilla recipe

What would I make the result be if I wanted to take away the recipe?

For that you would use datapack filters

I can't explain them now so you could search for it or use the pack.mcmeta generator on misode
