add to a vanilla loot table without overwriting it?

i'm looking to add an item to a loot table pool from vanilla, but i don't want to make my datapack incompatible with other packs that modify the same table. is there an agreed-upon way to resolve this?

Yes, users put weld-compatible packs together using this tool

this is the only existing loot table compat standard with any use and it's still not much, just a warning
