Guide on getting started with Minecraft datapacks
Haiii!!! What sorts of weapons do you want to make? ^^
I did this as my first datapack too, so i can give a bit of information on where to start
I recommend first looking into click detection, then components/nbt, then whatever abilities you want and finally custom model data(but its getting a rework soon)
I want to make some starter weapons
I had some ideas like : wooden sledge hammer, broken sword,
I want them to emit particles when you hit something
Have you done the tutorial linked above already?
We can tell you how to do these things but without the foundational knowledge provided there, it may not make a lot of sense
particles any effect on attack = either advancement or enchantment
OOOOOH CUSTOM ENCHANTMENTS >:DD
Custom enchantments are definitely the easiest way to accomplish this ^w^
But may not be desirable for every use case
enchantments are really hard to hide
I'd suggest using them if it's something on the enemy side and you don't see the tooltip
I got like a third of the way throgh the text but then it stopped working i checked it like 10 times
