Can Datapacks Prevent Nether Portals From Becoming Deactivated By Fire/Explosions? As the data pack I'm working on will add a finite number of nether portals, I want to ensure those that exist aren't able to be broken.

Similarly, I would want to prevent the blocks that comprise the portal to be unable to be broken. Potentially, the entire structure in which its found. Is that within the realm of a datapacks ability?

Prevent completely, no. But you could make them self-repairing

You could also try something like setting the gamemode of nearby players to adventure mode and destroying any lit explosives, though then you’d need to think of everything - no neat and easy way

maybe just use custom blocks for the frame (shulkers and block displays) and have self-repairing portal blocks

Perhaps... Though I do like the fact that the mod I mentioned above makes the mobs inside the structure get more powerful with every regeneration. (configurably)

I will happily make another question for this... But would it be safe to assume that a datapack can be used to make a structure spawn when some condition is met?

IE - I want a corresponding nether temple to spawn in the nether when a player passes through a portal that has formerly not been used. This ensures that portals connect to other portals, and that going through one won't drop you in a free standing portal as in vanilla.

... Welp... I've got a journey ahead of me.
