We're not gonna download the data pack to try to find the issue. If you'd like help, start by describing what you want to be happening, what is happening instead, and what you've tried to fix it
Also your Minecraft version
ok i want lots of particles to create a picture nothing is happening when i load minecraft and i have no idea how to fix and my version is 1.20.4
here is the datapack
That is still not enough info.
what do you want me to add?
What are you trying to do when nothing happens?
Does the pack not load at all? Or is it that you run the function and no particles appear?
i dont think the pack loads
Are you sure this is the right pack?
yeah
It only has two files, and the pack formate it about 33 versions behind.
really?
Did you use a website or something?
What version?
1.20.4
1.20.4:
Datapacks: 26 Resourcepacks: 22
Ah, it’s closer than I thought. :)
Regardless, the pack should still load.
How many lines long is the function file?
let me check
It must be absolutely massive if the zip total size is 270kb.
50134
cause im trying to create a picture
with particles
maybe something wrong that i typed?
is there anyone that made a datapack with the same concept and maybe can send me his datapack?
It certainly doesn't help that there are spaces in your function's name
That's not allowed
ok
ill fix it
anything else that can cause a problem?
because its still not working
you can test your datapack
and see from the console
if any errors appear then it will tell you what's the problem
its singleplayer
is there a console in singleplayer?
Yes
yes
The logs are where Minecraft displays errors when something goes wrong and can thus help you gain information about why something isn't working for you! To open the logs:
- Enable logs in the Minecraft Launcher
- Start your game (or restart it if you already have an open instance)
- Enjoy spotting errors getting much easier!
this ☝️
oh ok ill check it
if there's any error then report 👍
when i did /reload it didn't reload the datapacks because it thinks there are no datapacks
wait
Does custom:it exist?
If it exists then it's not loading
so what can i do?
See if the pack shows up when you run /dataack list in chat
ok
Yeah, that means you haven't installed it correctly
In my tests, functions with that many lines start to have issues.
Regardless, the datapack should still load
It’s just the function wouldn’t
It doesn't seem to be a pack.mcmeta issue
how can i fix it?
Where did you put the folder?
wich one?
The datapack
Is it there as a zip file, or a folder?
zip file
Ah that's the problem
what really?
You have zipped the file like this
But the data folder needs to be in the root of the zip file
Nope, pack.mcmeta needs to be next to data in the root
Yes
Cool
