Downwards facing jigsaws

Do downwards facing jigsaws do anything special? I’ve tried around with horizontal and upwards facing jigsaws now, and I think those now make sense. Just wanna ask if someone knows before I start trial and error testing it again

It's just the direction they try to connect to another structure part

But the upwards facing ones only place inside the bounding box and sideways facing ones outside
