Gameplay is basically you controlling 3 shipgirls on a side-scrolling stage while they shoot down ships and enemy shipgirls, while your 3 reserve shipgirls shoot from afar or deploy bombing runs from aircraft
The plot is there, hyper-sensationalised WWII naval plot which is very little actual history and mostly just "we're at war, then invaders from the future arrive so we must all band together"

This kind of appeal sells extremely well to lonely, anti-social (voluntarily or otherwise) weebs with any source of income and very little things to spend on in their lives

I hated Links more than anything because they’re so generic and simple and it’s like, what’s the point at that point—but then also I started hating fusion because I saw how they basically made it so that several different combinations of 2 completely different monsters all somehow make the exact same monster. Like, I get they wanted to make fusion easier, but it kinda subverted fusion

And that in itself is a good strategy. While duplicates can let you double down with the "I'll fkin do it again" mentality, no dupes allows for versatility. You can dupe your opponent into thinking you're setting up a situation for duplicates, only to complete go off the rails and do something else

Nah. Played Master Duel for like a few hours. Felt empty considering I had all the real cards but have to work my way up through the game
Would be nice if the game could scan my irl cards to verify that I own them and give me a copy in-game
But nah, the swarm strat is pretty neat, especially with token-abusing archetypes

Yeah that’s true, I think it’s just Konami wanting people to pay more, but you can get one deck made really fast because their crafting system is super lenient. Building up doesn’t take long and doesn’t feel grindy, probably faster than going up in TOF is, but I hear ya not wanting to have to go through it
