Guys, are gameplay focused people in the minority? Everywhere I go, I hear people whine about 'story quality' and what not. I wonder what percent of casual gamers are interested in gameplay mechanics and what percent are in story

It baffles me because I thought stories in games were just for immersion and to give you a purpose to play said game. It also would make for a memorable experience if executed well. But most important is the gameplay

The game will tell you a few details and maybe have a rudimentary story developed, but the real lore would be fleshed out by you putting the pieces together by scrounging around
