nah my wholesome story is way better.
its about a little girl who thinks she was abandoned by her parents
later on her new home got burned down, she got kidnapped by cultists and taken to a place they called "paradise"
the cultist took her to a place with other children to be testers of a specific performance enhancing drug they called "gnosis" as they believed they could use it to give birth to the god they worshiped
later on they realized that funding research was too expensive so they had their kidnapped children also "serve" customers if u know what i mean. and those customers ended up being some very influential politicians in some cases....
but yeah in that facility renne kept self abusing herself to maintain her sanity as she watched all the other children die one by one and the trauma itself had her develop some split-personality of each of the other children she was with. the cultists used this quirk with her to have her role-play while serving their "customers"
anyways years later another evil shady organization was pissed with the cult and came in and basically wiped out everyone of the cultists at "paradise" but they found that girl named renne as the only survivor. So the organization ends up taking her in and trains her as an "enforcer" and she eventually got the label as "enforcer no. 15, The angel of slaughter" which is also the tarrot card for "the devil"
it later ends with a scene where she is with the members of the organization who rescued her while visiting her hometown and u can see her parents with their newborn baby. and she contemplates killing them off as she was traumatized and thought her parents abandoned her, and the guys that rescued her offered to do the deed if she asked.
that said she doesn't actually do it, and eventually gets closure to this story in later entry in the series

in trails from zero she does end up having another interaction of sorts with her biological family
also the final boss of that game was literally the leader of the cult that kidnapped her
so there's that too
craziest part was she wasn't the only character that went through that too
cuz another major character in the series also went through the same shit in a diff place and is also a victim of said cult
only diff is her case wasn't as fucked up
as they just only focused on drugging them

You run missions in randomly generated spaces (inside ships, forests, asteroid bases, shipwrecks on ice planets, opulent towers in another dimension etc)
Most equipment and characters are farmed in parts (Primary weapons have receivers, barrels, stocks etc, secondaries have receivers and barrels)
Things do take irl time to build (12 hours for parts and weapons, 72 hours for whole characters) but the game has way too much to do for you to be focused on a build time
Early game is very tedious but once you get the hang of what to do, things become very clear, very quickly

With there being cross-play, cross-save, and no server-lock for your account, there's no shortage of who you can play with. The community is WAYYYYY too focused on speed-running missions to care if you're dying too much so if you wanna get carried, never fear

You can slide to build speed before doing a spiral jump to rocket towards the direction you're looking at, aim your gun while in the air to go into a hovering glide, latch onto a wall or jump up along it, jump off then do that same slide + jump to rocket in another direction
Sounds a lot more complex than it is. Give it a few hours and you'll be flipping around like it's going out of style
