#Make the game multiplayer.

true! 💯
Even a CO-OP would be a brilliant thing
I hope, no PvP will ever be introduced!
I have a nice idea to bring the Ko-Op in lore in game
You have to find a defect caretaker robot and fix it
Then hang it in a rack (as a suggestion, you could learn how to do this at level 2 or 3). After this, a friend can join your session.
I would say the experience and the recipes are shared only the skills can everyone learn and set themselves
This game in coop would kick ass
This would be great but in all honesty I think coop with the extra player needing to be at the same facility (ie close-ish) would be wonderful. I'd buy my friends copies for that 🙂
Might make sense with the later jet ski update but loses a bit of the “last” element. Unless it’s effectively “drones” of some kind
I like this idea, making the player have to play on single player and learn a bit before allowing co-op. Also, making it so both players have to complete this task so they're both at some point near the same understanding of the game. Keeping that Caretaker in a rack with that players name attached permanently with their stats and skills and loot on them. Meaning every different player that joins will need their own Caretaker Frame. Even if you limit it to 4 players max, and I have 6 friends, I could have 6 seperate Caretaker Frames on my ship for whoever jumps in for them. That's my take. I've also played too much of another game that does this...but they don't have character stats and talents. Maybe also, these Caretaker Frames can do npc tasks like scrapping any loose mats you drop on your ship? Maybe use a Computer Mainframe of some sort to write simple codes/logics to pick up items and place them in storage or the scrapper? Lots of ideas. Just things I'm thinking of as I watch my friend play. I'm very tempted to buy the game. Still watching and learning though.
Oh, what is the other game you speak of?
I think they're talking about watching TLC, not playing TLC and watching something else.
One issue with building frames is that you can die in game, and you don't respawn. Every save contains zero deaths. So there are some mechanics that need to change in-game to avoid being weirdly burdensome in co-op.
In the middle of his post he talks about "That's my take. I've also played too much of another game that does this...but they don't have character stats and talents." So I was curious which game.
Ah, missed that. Thanks.
I would be fine with adding NPC drones that can be assigned specific tasks, but adding multi-player would be fairly incongruous with the whole "Last Caretaker" concept
While that's true, fun sometimes trumps design. I am, however, glad that they're focusing on rich singleplayer first. That's increasingly rare these days.
The game that has multiplayer and leaves players bodies in game is called Stationeers. Fun space survival game. Unfinished, but constantly being updated. The game that I got the idea to make code/task orders from is Omega Crafters and Stationeers. I don't want to talk too much about other games. I see the potential in this game and it's only a different take. Doesn't make it right for their path.
Technically, in multiplayer the other player could repair you with the repair tool or hook you up the ferrofluid thingy
However you'd technically have to wait if they were off on the other side of the map
I suppose to combat this you could craft back up bodies that would allow you to just loot your stuff and scrap your old body
