My ship battery will only charge to 4.1 instead of the full 6. Because it is the one mounted in the hull there is no way to check and repair it, at least that I can find. Devs, if it can be damaged please make it accessible and repairable. And yes, I can build more batteries as a work around, but how everything else seems to work in this game this does not appear to be a intended result.

I haven't tried it, but what is the overall HP of your ship? You can see it on helm, at the center console. Could be, that when you repair your ship, it also repairs built-in diesel tank and battery.
Same problem with my e-car... 🤣
what stinks is none of my other batteries now charge fully since I have them all plugged in series into the ship and all my electrical generation plugged into the ship as well and not directly connected to the batteries (since the cabling that would require would be ugly) Since the ship's battery is capped right now at 4.1 instead of 6.0 none of the other batteries can charge to 6.0 and that effects my electric engine speed.
Right now short of restarting the game entirely (I do not have a manual save far enough back prior to whatever happened to damage the internal battery) I might just wait until the Devs give us a way to fix it.
sorry about this bug, it happened when a shark clips into the hull and is in line with either the battery or diesel tank, it then does damage that cannot be repaired, has been raised to the devs 🙂 sorry about that
If there was some way to target it's hit-box so the repair tool would work on it - maybe make the grates over the tank and the battery a interactable hatch, or a removable deck plate between them you can drop down into "the bilge" to access them... Granted that means updating the ship model - not an easy solution regardless. Thank you for your response and the news it is being looked into.
really the fix is to ensure they can never be damaged
